There are several fictions perpetrated by the vaguely comic “Tulsa King.” One suggests that there are areas of this country so innocent and untouched by evildoers that an aging mob capo could come in and transform the place, virtually overnight, into Vito Corleone’s Little Italy circa 1920. Another suggests that said gangster, Dwight Manfredi ( Sylvester Stallone ), could be mistaken by an extremely attractive local woman ( Andrea Savage ) for a “hard 55” rather than his actual 75 years of age. It’s something that the series has to deal with eventually and does quickly, if not mercifully.
Enter “Tulsa King,” a slim vehicle for Sylvester Stallone that’s a little too overtly designed as a mobster fish out of water. “There’s nothing left for you here,” says the new boss (“The Wire’s” Domenick Lombardozzi), noting, “We can’t just rewind the clock.”Conceptually, though, that’s exactly what “Tulsa King” does, or at least tries to do, exiling Dwight to the dreary confines of Oklahoma. “Tulsa King” turns out to be a rather odd mix of attributes, relying almost entirely on Stallone’s movie-star charisma as the show alternates between sitcom conventions and R-rated “The Sopranos”-flecked flourishes. In that sense, “Tulsa King” suggests maybe you can rewind the clock, just a little, even if you’re gonna fly a little bit lower now. “Tulsa King” premieres November 13 on Paramount+.

CNN —Sylvester Stallone will not be reprising his role in “Creed III.”Stallone, who began playing “Rocky” in 1976, said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he doesn’t like where the franchise is headed, so he opted out. It was taken in a direction that is quite different than I would’ve taken it,” Stallone told the publication. I like my heroes getting beat up, but I just don’t want them going into that dark space. I just feel people have enough darkness.”Stallone is still a producer on the film, set for release in March 2023. He will next star in the Paramount+ series “Tulsa King,” playing a mobster released from prison who’s exiled to Oklahoma.
In the last leg of what has been a heated midterm election cycle, some conservative groups have ramped up misleading or inflammatory campaign ads targeting transgender rights, which have become an increasingly partisan and divisive issue. Within the last several weeks, the American Principles Project aired campaign ads in six battleground states, the group wrote on Twitter. Justin Unga, the director of strategic initiatives for the Human Rights Campaign, said ads targeting transgender rights can have real-world ramifications. A record 346 anti-LGBTQ bills have been filed in state legislatures around the country this year, including 145 that restrict transgender rights, according to the Human Rights Campaign. Many of the recent campaign ads targeting transgender rights were directed at Black and Latino voters, according to the Human Rights Campaign.

Broken Arrow Police Chief Brandon Berryhill said Friday two adult suspects found deceased in the home are being investigated as suspects in the murder-suicide. The official cause of death will be determined by the local medical examiner's office, and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
On Wednesday night, NBC News counted at least nine people watching the ballot drop box in Mesa, a small part of what has become a growing effort by some conservatives to monitor ballot drop boxes in hope of catching election fraud. Some people have stood watch at the drop box while wearing military-style fatigues and masks over their faces, prompting complaints to the Arizona secretary of state. No such drop box fraud has ever been found in significant numbers. On that platform, the former president’s account has shared posts by users advocating for drop box surveillance, including the Mesa drop box. “As for tailgate parties in every drop box: why not?” Keshel said, reiterating that drop box watchers should not participate in any illegal behavior.
"Now — with a turbulent, unpredictable economy causing fear of recession, migrations are slowing, occupancy rates are falling and rent prices are following suit." Data from real estate database RealPage shows that in the third quarter of the year — a typically robust leasing period — rental demand turned "moderately negative" as leasing traffic plummeted. "The faster those things show up in consumer price inflation, the faster the inflation steps down, the sooner the Fed will back off." According to Zumper, more than half of the 100 US cities measured in its monthly national rent report posted month-over-month price declines in October. Lawler's analysis, as well as the recent rental market data, both suggest things are trending in the right direction.
Some of the 19 bodies exhumed for testing in an effort to identify victims of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and then reburied in an Oklahoma cemetery will be removed again starting Wednesday to gather more DNA. The latest exhumations of bodies, some of which were taken last year from Oaklawn Cemetery, will be followed by another excavation for additional remains. “There were 14 of the 19 that fit the criteria for further DNA analysis,” city spokesperson Michelle Brooks said. Work continues on an excavation of a potential unmarked mass grave from the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Tulsa, Okla., on July 14, 2020. Intermountain Forensics is seeking people who believe they are descendants of massacre victims to provide genetic material to help scientists find potential matches.

With homeownership costs doubling since last year, the market for starter homes has become unaffordable for most buyers in all but four major U.S. cities, according to a recent study published by real estate site Point2. But due to homeownership costs, the starter home is becoming the "stuff of myths," according to Point2. For the purposes of Point2's analysis, starter homes are those valued in the bottom third of all homes available in a given market. To measure affordability, the study follows the common personal finance rule that a mortgage payment shouldn't exceed 30% of a homeowner's gross monthly income. Here's a closer look at the four cities where starter homes are actually affordable for those earning the area's median household income.

Despite the sudden departure, Fante's ex-employer did give her one major point of leverage that powered her new job search: The ed-tech company operated with total salary transparency. Fante adds that the company's policy existed before Colorado enacted its salary transparency law in January 2021. "It revolutionized the way I thought about pay, because that transparency just felt very natural and like something everyone deserves," she says.
