CNN —After the suicide of a nonbinary student last February spurred a monthslong federal investigation, the US Department of Education found Title IX violations in an Oklahoma public school district including multiple failures to respond to notices of sexual harassment. The DOE’s Office of Civil Rights announced a resolution Wednesday with the Owasso Public School District to remedy Title IX violations linked to sexual harassment in district schools. The OCR investigation began last March, weeks after the death of nonbinary teen, Nex Benedict. The investigation also identified several other instances in the last three years when district staff failed to properly respond to sexual harassment complaints. The agreement between the DOE and the school district requires the district to implement new policies and procedures and additional training for staff and students.

Five new arrests have been made over the violence surrounding a soccer game last week involving an Israeli team, Dutch police said Monday. The five men are "suspected of public acts of violence against persons Thursday night," police in the Dutch capital Amsterdam said Monday. The violence has been condemned as targeted antisemitic attacks by authorities in Israel and the Netherlands, which authorities said saw small groups on foot and scooters commit hit-and-run assaults on Israeli fans. Another video verified by NBC News showed a brawl break out outside Amsterdam Central Station after the game, in what the photographer described as an attack by Israeli fans on local residents. Israel sent extra planes to bring the soccer fans home from Amsterdam, and has told Israeli fans not to attend cultural or sports events abroad this week.

HONG KONG — Thirty-five people were killed and another 43 were injured when a driver deliberately rammed his car into a crowd outside a sports center in southern China, police said Tuesday. Ruben Gallego will be Arizona’s first Latino senator next year, NBC News projects, after he defeated Republican Kari Lake amid a protracted vote count in one of the key swing states. Trump won the state in 2016 and won it again this year by what appears to be his biggest margin in any of the core swing states. But he kept his message homed on the issues behind those identities, linking them to border security, comprehensive immigration reform and expanded mental health services for veterans.
