Fetterman has made clear his support for Oregon’s measure 110, which decriminalized drugs like heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine. Measure 110 has also been linked to a massive increase in violent crime. The crisis ravaging vulnerable communities like Kensington results from ineffective drug policies pushed by elected officials who care more about caring than fixing.

Arthur Lee Cofield impersonated a movie mogul stole to steal at least $11 million, per a report. He impersonated Sidney Kimmel using contraband cell phones, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The 31-year-old reportedly committed the crime while being held in Georgia's most secure prison. Kimmel, 94, is the chairman and CEO of the production company Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. He then chartered a private plane to transport the coins to Atlanta and bought a mansion in Buckhead, Georgia worth $4.4 million.

A prisoner who was held in a decontamination shower stall at Rikers Island jail for nearly 24 hours. Police arrested a "person of interest" in the slayings of four Oklahoma bicyclists in central Florida — more than 1,200 miles away, authorities said Tuesday. Joseph Kennedy, 67, was arrested in Daytona Beach Shores, in a car "that was reported stolen to the Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office" Monday, according to a statement from police in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Kennedy was arrested without incident and did not make any statement to officers, according to Fowler. "Upon confirming (with police in Oklahoma) his status as a missing person we were notified that he is a person of interest in a quadruple homicide," Fowler said. The four men were reported missing early last week after they left on their bicycles.

A woman who said she was left to give birth to her baby alone on the dirty, concrete floor of her jail cell in Maryland filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday alleging that jail nurses ignored her screams and pleas for help for six hours. A fellow inmate, hearing Valentine’s pleas, called Valentine’s boyfriend, who called the jail pleading with staffers to help her, the lawsuit said. The nurses also ignored a concern raised by a jail deputy about Valentine but he did not contact any superiors, the lawsuit said. The lawsuit is similar to one filed in 2019 by a woman who gave birth alone in Denver’s jail the year before, claiming that nurses and deputies ignored her pleas for help for five hours. Previously, decisions about whether to move a pregnant inmate were left to jail nurses but deputies were authorized to call for an ambulance for someone in labor.

Martin said the stress of being pregnant in prison without adequate prenatal care is taking a toll on her mental and physical health. Chrysti Shain, a spokesperson for the South Carolina Department of Corrections, said the prison is investigating Martin’s report of assault. Why would I cut my hair?” Martin said. According to Martin’s prison report, she has been disciplined for failing to obey orders and threatening to inflict harm on an employee. A Missouri inmate serving a life sentence for killing a man was linked to the cold case killings of four women who vanished more than 30 years ago after DNA evidence connected him to the crimes.
