While executive stock sales — such as Dimon's planned transactions next year — are not universally red flags, they can get complicated. Insider stock sales Executive stock trades are usually disclosed through SEC filings known as Form 4 documents and accessible through the regulator's EDGAR database — the electronic data gathering, analysis, and retrieval system. Rule 10b5-1 trading plans came into the fold just over two decades ago to reconcile these two discordant facts. Adopting Rule 10b5-1 trading plans gives public-company executives a way to protect against allegations of illegal insider trading in the future. Compared with a tiny stock sale executed through a predetermined plan, executive stock buys generally send a much stronger signal: The executive wants to make money, too.

The Boeing KC-46 Pegasus aerial refueling tanker is seen before a delivery celebration to the U.S. Air Force in Everett, Washington, U.S., January 24, 2019. Despite absorbing $4.4 billion in losses in 2022 – which executives said would lower the risk of future cost overruns – the unit has seen little improvement this year. Excluding last year, losses on Boeing's defense programs in 2023 exceed those from all years since 2014, according to a Reuters review of Boeing’s regulatory filings. The latest charge for Air Force One brought total losses to $2.4 billion on a $3.9 billion contract to develop two planes. A better bet, and one Boeing's defense segment is aggressively pursuing, is inking future contracts for next-generation fighter jets and cutting-edge drones.

Enterprise software giant Salesforce (CRM) has been trudging through a challenged stretch of trading lately — but it's certainly no justification for a Wall Street downgrade, Jim Cramer said Monday. Salesforce appears well-positioned on both sales growth and profitability, even if some on Wall Street question its ability to deliver a growth mix on par with its software peers. Alongside its fiscal 2024 second-quarter results in late August, Salesforce tweaked its full-year revenue guidance to a level slightly above Wall Street consensus estimates at the time, implying nearly 11% year-over-year growth. However, the firm said Club holding Microsoft (MSFT) is still its favorite large-cap software stock to own into year-end, citing AI catalysts. "Airbus remains committed to providing the U.S. Air Force and our warfighters with the most modern and capable tanker on the market," an Airbus spokesperson said. The Air Force has sought to replace hundreds of Eisenhower-era KC-135 tankers in three lots. "Lockheed Martin has decided not to respond to the U.S. Air Force's KC-135 fleet recapitalization Request for Information," Lockheed spokesperson Stephanie Stinn said in a statement. A Lockheed-Airbus victory would have landed Airbus its first aircraft contract with the U.S. Air Force after attempting to penetrate the U.S. defense market for two decades. In 2011, Boeing won the first of the three-phase procurement to replace the Air Force's aging tanker fleet, securing a contract for 179 KC-46s.

The White House is spending $7 billion to spur "clean" hydrogen. The goal is to spur the production of "clean" hydrogen, because the way it's currently produced is a dirty business. Anna Menke, the task force's senior hydrogen-hubs manager, said she wants the debate to move away from green versus blue hydrogen because each technology has its pros and cons. Korgel noted that the federal definition of "clean" hydrogen has been evolving, but should be more clear soon. The Internal Revenue Service has to decide what "clean" hydrogen is eligible for a tax credit worth up to an estimated $100 billion over its lifetime.

"We saw how the Russians fought in Ukraine and the mistakes they made," Brigadier General Hisham Ibrahim told The Economist. "They fought there in a single-corps fashion, instead of using combined arms tactics," he said of Russia's tank deployments. But Israel's tanks, Ibrahim said, have been trained on combined-arms tactics for several years now. Ukraine's tactics of using cheap drones and Next Generation Light Anti-Tank Weapons (NLAW) exacted a high price on Russia's tanks. As of July this year, Russia is estimated to have lost 2,000 tanks in Ukraine, The Moscow Times reported.

He told The Post that Russian drone pilots deployed the tactic, which was described by captured soldiers, to see if the soldiers ran toward Russian or Ukrainian lines, which would reveal which side they were on, he said. Intercepted Russian radio conversations also appeared to show Russian forces would shoot any of their own soldiers who retreated, Rollo said.

Putin on Thursday said Russia's nuclear doctrine did not need updating but that he was not yet ready to say whether or not Russia needed to resume nuclear tests. The Kremlin chief said that Russia should look at revoking ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) as the United States had signed it but not ratified. Just hours after Putin's words, Russia's top lawmaker, Vyacheslav Volodin, said the legislature's bosses would swiftly consider the need to revoke Russia's ratification for the treaty. "At the next meeting of the State Duma Council, we will definitely discuss the issue of revoking the ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty," Volodin said. Putin's words, followed by Volodin's, indicate that Russia is almost certain to revoke ratification of the treaty, which bans nuclear explosions by everyone, everywhere.
