Battleground Georgia is the latest stop in a late-campaign sprint by Obama, who has leveled at Trump increasingly passionate attacks and rounds of mocking. After Obama’s speech, Harris came onstage, where they embraced before the vice president delivered a nearly identical message. “What I can’t understand is why anyone would think that Donald Trump will shake things up in a way that is good for you. Bond market investors are having trouble figuring out an economy that looks good from 30,000 feet, but less so closer to the ground. Whether it's payrolls, gross domestic product or retail sales, or a host of other measures, growth looks solid, at the very least. On Wall Street, the general view was of concern: The Beige Book "showed no material improvement in a generally bleak outlook," Citigroup economist Andrew Hollenhorst wrote. However, if growth deteriorates, as the Beige Book indicates it has, that likely would push the Fed towards more reductions. "Despite recent stronger-than-expected data on U.S. employment, retail sales, and consumer inflation, the Fed's latest Beige Book signals a still weakening economy."

Demands for a federal investigation mount as witnesses and survivors of a gangway collapse at a dock in Georgia describe the “catastrophic failure” that killed seven people traveling for a festival celebrating Gullah Geechee history. Indeed, if the stock market is anticipating a Trump victory, what might the bond market and gold market be telling us, assuming they expect the same outcome? DARIEN, Ga. — The seven people killed Saturday in a gangway collapse on a Georgia barrier island were all in their 70s, except for one woman in her 90s, the coroner said Sunday. A portion of the gangway which collapsed Saturday afternoon remains visible on Sapelo Island in McIntosh county, Ga., on Sunday. Sapelo Island ferry service will resume Monday using an auxiliary dock, Department of Natural Resources spokesperson Tyler Jones said Sunday. It’s not clear if any of those who died in Saturday's collapse were Gullah Geechee people. Meanwhile, Grovner said, survivors of those who died Saturday will be embraced by the Gullah Geechee and their longstanding fight to exist.

While rent prices are undoubtedly rising, it’s unclear how much of the jump is due to corporate investors who buy up multiple properties. “Community after community feels taken advantage of by Wall Street investors and corporate landlords who have bought thousands of single-family homes during recent downturns,” Harris’ policy platform reads. A CNN analysis found that rent increases recently outpaced wage growth in cities with a meaningful presence of big investors. Ownership by corporate landlords, which CNN calculated by combining limited liability entities, real estate corporations and real estate investment trusts, stood at 16%. The number of single-family homes under construction dramatically decreased after the 2008 financial crisis, and construction never really returned to pre-recession levels.
