The fast food giant has given one of its Bay Ridge outposts a retro makeover as a promotional stunt for Marvel's latest TV show. From Aug. 20 until Sept. 1, customers who visit the location at 6620 Bay Parkway will be greeted by the McDonald's of yesteryear. The burger restaurant has received a top-to-bottom makeover that makes it look like it did in 1982. McDonald'sFrom the ferns that were once ubiquitous in McDonald's restaurants to the vintage artwork on the walls featuring mascots including Grimace and Mayor McCheese, there's no trace of the chain's modern, minimalist current look. Guests are even allowed into the team's clubhouse, which features TVs, couches, ping pong tables and padded chairs normally reserved for ballplayers.

It's a sad irony, but an irony nonetheless, that this week the European Space Agency announced that a piece of space debris — left in orbit by a 2013 launch of Arianespace's Vega rocket and the target of a removal mission — appears to have been struck by other space debris. But the ISS itself may have to dodge space debris this afternoon, with station controllers considering changing its altitude. The risk posed by space debris is not a novel problem for the industry, but it's an ever more pressing one. Satellites and space debris are largely tracked via ground-based radars and telescopes. Debris removal is a nascent part of the broader satellite servicing market (also known as In-Space Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing, or ISAM).

SANTIAGO, Aug 3 (Reuters) - A winter heat wave bringing historically high temperatures to Chile is a "window" to an increasingly warm future, according to scientists. "Having temperatures of 37 degrees (99 degrees Fahrenheit) in the middle of southern winter is extraordinary," said Raul Cordero, a climatologist at the University of Santiago. He added that while it's often hard to establish a connection between extreme weather events and climate change, temperatures in parts of Chile have been breaking records year after year. "Winter high-temperature events do affect the spring flow rate that can be expected from melt," Jacques said. According to the latest service reports, high temperatures in the north and center of the country will last all week.
