CNN —Moscow has vowed to respond to Ukrainian attacks within its borders after a drone set on fire a warehouse allegedly storing munitions, prompting a state of emergency in Russia’s south-western Voronezh region. The drone attack took place in a settlement in the Podgorensky district, Voronezh governor Aleksandr Gusev said Sunday. “Several UAVs were detected and destroyed by on-duty air defense forces over the territory of the Voronezh region last night. Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Sunday that Ukrainian drone attacks had also been intercepted Saturday night in the border region of Belgorod. Two teenagers drowned while swimming off Coney Island in Brooklyn as a thunderstorm rolled into the area Friday evening, the second such fatal episode at a New York City beach in less than a month. Two girls, ages 17 and 18, were reported missing after going into the water near Stillwell Avenue shortly after 8 p.m., according to the New York City Police Department. Both were later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the police. The deaths, two weeks after two teenagers died swimming off the Rockaways in Queens, mark a particularly deadly start to the summer season at New York City beaches, where drownings have been a perennial problem. Results show that the opposition Labour Party has won 412 parliamentary seats of the total 650, with just two seats yet to be declared. This translates as roughly 63% of the total seats, but Labour has won just 34% of the total "popular" vote, while the Conservative Party has secured nearly 24% of that number. Meanwhile, smaller parties including the centrist Liberal Democrats, right-wing Reform U.K. and the Greens took nearly 43% of the popular vote but gained just less than 18% of the seats available. Unlike in other voting systems, there are no second rounds or ranking of first- and second-choice candidates, meaning it can be difficult for smaller parties to translate an increased share of the popular vote into parliamentary seats.

London CNN —A set of 19th-century drawings by a teenage Queen Victoria will be put up for auction in London next week. An ink drawing by Queen Victoria, titled "A seated woman with a crown and sash" and dated 1838, is inscribed "by Her Majesty." George Hayter also gave the Queen drawing lessons, and Russell believes these drawings show his influence “quite closely”. The auction house has previously sold other works by royal artists, including a painting by Queen Victoria’s daughter, Princess Victoria, which fetched £4,198 (around $5,320) last year. The Royal Collection Trust, which looks after the royal family’s art collection, has more than 4,000 works by Queen Victoria, spanning 64 years of her life.

CNN —One of the largest ever collections of Princess Diana’s possessions to hit the market smashed estimates and sold for a total of $5.5 million, alongside other royal memorabilia, Los Angeles auction house Julien’s Auctions announced. Composed of more than 50 items, the collection featured several of Diana’s evening gowns, suits, shoes, hats and handbags, as well as personal letters and photographs. Its designer, Victor Edelstein, also created the famous off-the-shoulder, midnight blue velvet evening gown Diana wore while dancing with John Travolta at the White House. Diana wore this tulle gown to the premiere of "The Phantom of the Opera." It bears cipher of his father, King George V, and was made by Garrard – the jewelers who have produced several pieces for the royal family, including Diana’s sapphire engagement ring.
