CNN —When England take the field at Sunday’s Women’s World Cup final, the team won’t look the same as the one that won the European championship last July. No white shorts. The number of nations whose uniforms feature white shorts decreased from 2019’s tournament, despite the number of participants expanding from 24 to 32. Melton noted that the historical prevalence of white shorts in women’s sports suggests that little to no consideration was given to how women’s bodies differ from men’s. Eugenie Le Sommer of France, one of several teams to switch from white shorts to dark-colored ones at this year's World Cup.

When Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis filed criminal charges against former President Donald Trump and over a dozen of his allies for their attempt to overturn Georgia’s 2020 presidential election results, she did something ingenious. In contrast to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s latest laser-focused federal indictment of Mr. Trump, Ms. Willis charges a wide range of conspirators from the Oval Office to low-level Georgia G.O.P. functionaries and is the first to plumb the full depths, through a state-focused bathyscope, of the conspiracy. Her case also provides other important complements to the federal matter: Unlike Mr. Smith’s case, which will almost certainly not be broadcast because of federal standards, hers will almost certainly be televised, and should Mr. Trump or another Republican win the White House, Ms. Willis’s case cannot be immediately pardoned away. It is a reminder of the genius of American federalism: When our democracy is threatened, states have an indispensable part to play in protecting it.

Enter generative artificial intelligence — a technology set to simplify that process, and allow companies to better tailor recommendations to travelers' specific interests. The hope is that AI will not only plan itineraries, but communicate with hotels, draft travel budgets, even function as a personal travel assistant — and in the process fundamentally alter the way companies approach travelers. A typical home search on Airbnb, for example, produces results that don't take past searches into account. During an earnings call in May, CEO Brian Chesky discussed how AI could alter Airbnb's approach. He said: "Instead of asking you questions like: 'Where are you going, and when are you going?'

Niger's tailors rush to make Russian flags after coup

The flags have been in demand since President Mohamed Bazoum was toppled late last month in a military takeover, leading to some Russian support among crowds that celebrated the coup. It echoes similar outpourings of pro-Russian sentiments after recent military takeovers in other West African countries, worrying Western powers who see their influence slipping in some old regional allies. He said the flags of neighboring Burkina Faso, Guinea and Mali, where military takeovers have also occurred since 2020, were also popular. Citizens in Burkina Faso also waved Russian flags during violent anti-France demonstrations that followed a coup in September 2022, the second in the country that year. "Before the coup d'etat I didn't know the Russian flag," he added.

Roord's header gave her side an early lead and Lineth Beerensteyn added the second goal courtesy of a goalkeeping error in the second half to secure the Dutch a date with Spain in Wellington on Friday. Dutch goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar was equal to everything Banyana Banyana fired at her, however, and the 2019 finalists progressed to the last eight for the second successive tournament. Ten minutes into the second half, winger Lieke Martens had a goal disallowed for offside, but the Dutch did double the lead in the 68th minute. Banyana Banyana had one last chance to get on the scoreboard in stoppage time, almost inevitably through Kgatlana, but there was no way past Van Domselaar. There is thus an inherent tension at the heart of personalized medicine. It purports to both tailor health care and drive down costs, but the more it succeeds at individualization, the higher go the prices. My parents were financially stable, and they had good health insurance that covered the expensive drug. Media reports surrounding personalized medicine often forecast a future of health care revolutionized by the arrival of medical magic bullets and biomedical breakthroughs. Still, for patients with advanced lung cancer like my dad, the chances of being alive five years after initial diagnosis are terrifyingly small.

Some women said they preferred to work in-house at a bridal shop, where they could have a steady stream of clients and backup for when things went wrong. Other women said they liked working as independent tailors because their schedules could be flexible and there was no profit-sharing. In 2019, she founded Stitched Collective, an organization that hosts in-person events for seamstresses nationwide. A central conundrum framed the call: How can bridal seamstresses in the United States navigate the overwhelming amount of business being sent their way in 2023?

In January 2022, I pivoted from print-on-demand products to digital productsI was faced with pandemic supply-chain issues, and I also saw a lot of successful sellers on Etsy who were selling just digital designs. With interest rates peaking, now might be a good time to boost the cash flow you're generating in your fixed income portfolio. A core and satellite approach to boost cash flow For liquidity, UBS recommends a core-satellite approach. You also know when you'll be getting your income payments from the bonds, which generally pay interest twice a year. The first is "everyday cash," which means investors should be stashing money that they can readily withdraw if needed. The second tier is "savings cash" for money that you can afford to lock up for a short period of time.

Enter the Saudis, who launched an upstart golf tournament last year, LIV Golf, that competed with the U.S.-based PGA Tour and its European counterpart DTP. There are worries that Saudi Arabia, a regime viewed as hostile to women and LGBTQ groups, would have significant sway over golf’s culture. LIV Golf is owned by Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund. Why Americans are obsessed with peanut butter

Skippy was the leading peanut butter brand in the U.S. until 1980, a title that now belongs to Jif. Pond, that became the first brand to commercially develop peanut butter in 1920, sparking the way we eat peanut butter today. "We've launched certain innovations specifically in Asian markets to help enable that type of cooking use for peanut butter. Domestically, Americans eat an average of 4.25 pounds of peanut butter per capita, a figure that increased temporarily during the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the National Peanut Board. As the family came together in the middle of the day, we saw that it introduced this love and affection for peanut butter to children who will hopefully carry that love and affection for peanut butter into [their] lifetime," he added.

The age of online job hunting has led job seekers to make a critical mistake, according to career coach Sarah Doody. But when used correctly, technology like ChatGPT and LinkedIn can help a candidate dodge that mistake, says Doody. But features like LinkedIn Spotlights pull certain profiles out of the haystack and highlight them to recruiters. According to LinkedIn, Spotlights aim to help recruiters "prioritize candidates who are more likely to engage with you and your organization." Those consuming energy drinks instead of sports drinks or water may become dehydrated. This could be because of confusion between sports drinks and energy drinks, so people should be careful to choose the beverage that’s appropriate for their purpose.
