Ad giant IPG has officially figured out what to do with its embattled data and technology unit Kinesso, which went through a massive shakeup over the summer that saw many of its top execs depart, as Insider first reported. Kinesso has now been merged with Reprise, an agency within Mediabrands, IPG's group of media-buying agencies. "We're trying to create an end-to-end media engine that fuels the rest of IPG Mediabrands," Martin told Insider. But the areas where the new KINESSO specializes in — like data expertise, technology, and AI — are expected to be a means for growth. KINESSO has about 6,200 employees, roughly a third of the 18,000 staffers Mediabrands has across its global network.

That means most current executives, who came up in the era of easy money, are unfamiliar with the complexities of running a bank under today’s conditions. Some CEOs are deciding that they need to make drastic, expensive and often unpopular institutional changes to help them keep up. Banks currently have strong managers, but not a lot of strong leaders, said David Schiff, senior partner at West Monroe. Prior to the current interest rate hikes, banks had been operating with low-interest, stable rates for nearly two decades, he said. Flexport's CEO Ryan Petersen said on X that it's rescinding dozens of job offers. Recruiters point out that rescinding job offers is not uncommon – and not illegal. Roman later told Insider that Flexport's decision might also set a new precedent for how people think about job offers. He also noted that rescinded offers have been among the "most challenging" situations he's had to deal with in his professional life. In June 2022, cryptocurrency platform Coinbase rescinded job offers via mass emails — a decision that at least one recipient denounced as "unprofessional."

CNN —In an urgent appeal to wealthy Republicans who had assembled in Milwaukee ahead of the first GOP presidential primary debate, top brass for the super PAC backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis told donors they needed an injection of $50 million over the next four months, according to leaked audio obtained by CNN. The tension spilled into the open just days before the Milwaukee event, when the super PAC released a memo with debate pointers for DeSantis. The pitch appeared structured to convince donors the super PAC had a plan for their dollars if they would open up their pocketbooks. Many Republican strategists and campaign veterans have questioned the arrangement between DeSantis’ campaign and the super PAC, pointing to the limitations of running a political operation from the outside.

The move comes after the Brazilian company in April agreed to sell its luxury brand Aesop to French cosmetics group L'Oreal (OREP.PA) at an enterprise value of $2.53 billion. Natura grew through high profile acquisitions in recent years, including the purchase of The Body Shop from L'Oreal in 2017, but has now been looking for "discipline" and deleveraging as it aims to bring back profitability. CNN —CNN’s future is coming into greater focus. Last week, CNN announced a sweeping overhaul of its lineup, establishing its all-important prime time roster while also making several other key programming moves. And on Thursday, the outlet announced the launch of CNN Max, a new service that represents the beginning of a streaming future for the channel following the abrupt shuttering of the nascent CNN+. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, there continues to be an active search for the next leader of CNN, following Licht’s dismissal. And while CNN Max might not be the luxurious streaming lifeboat that CNN+ might have been, it is a lifeboat — and some form of a vessel is better than none at all.
