You might miss a massive move in Trump Media & Technology Group’s stock price. Trump Media is so turbulent that it makes bitcoin’s volatility look tame. There are many reasons why Trump Media shares have been so volatile, including the fact that the company is inextricably linked to the former president. This dynamic makes it easier for investors to place bullish bets, sending Trump Media shares surging. But that has been trickier with Trump Media, allowing its stock to spike in its early days.

Despite Thursday's declines, the S & P 500 is only 2% from last week's record highs. The surprise isn't that the S & P 500 dropped Thursday. .SPX 6M mountain S & P 500, 6 months First-quarter earnings estimates for the S & P 500 have slipped to an expected gain of 5.1%, down from an anticipated increase of 7.2% on Jan. 1, according to LSEG. Since earnings are what ultimately moves stocks, the question is not "What would cause a modest 2% to 5% decline?" To do that, market participants would need to believe that earnings estimates were off significantly.

Here’s the first thing to know about the new Robinhood credit card that promises 3 percent cash back on all purchases, without limits: Yesterday, when I asked Vlad Tenev, the company’s chief executive, to guarantee that it would stay at that level for 18 months, he would not. Cash-back offers from big card issuers like Citibank generally top out at about 2 percent, and it’s hard to make money even at that level. The Robinhood Gold Card is the company’s first credit card with its own branding. So what does it think it knows that nobody else does, and what exactly does it hope to accomplish? There are several ways to make money with credit cards.

New York CNN —The “Buffett Indicator” is flashing red. If the stock market is growing a lot faster than the economy, that could be a sign of a bubble. He said Trump Media is likely worth somewhere around $2 a share — nowhere near its closing stock price of $58.

Bitcoin investors shouldn't sell amid high volatility, Anthony Scaramucci said. He said clients have been dismayed by the crypto's big price swings. He said at the Bitcoin Investor Day conference that his advice to clients is to "act like you're dead." "So act like you're dead with your bitcoin and don't sell your bitcoin. That occurrence, industry experts say, could create a supply shock and ultimately push the price of bitcoin higher.

However, that won’t happen if you just let it sit in a traditional checking or savings account that yields next to nothing. High-yield online savings accountsThe average annual percentage yield on bank savings accounts was just 0.52% as of March 13, according to Bankrate. As with any bank savings rate, high-yield savings account rates can change overnight, and the bank may not alert you when it lowers it. But don’t confuse money market accounts with money market mutual funds, which invest in short-term, low-risk debt instruments. Unlike money market deposit accounts, money market mutual funds are not insured by the FDIC.

Unsurprisingly, several flashing indicators suggest that investors are feeling good about the market:• CNN’s Fear & Greed Index: The indicator, which measures seven barometers of market sentiment including the VIX, Wall Street’s most well-known measure of expected stock volatility, is in “greed” territory. Market sentiment is often seen as a contrarian indicator. That means that when the herd is optimistic, money managers take it as a sign that stocks will fall, and vice versa. Some investors looking for steady income in retirement are turning to managed payout funds. There are just a handful of these niche mutual funds, which pay monthly income to investors, Morningstar portfolio strategist Amy Arnott said. Schwab offers three such funds: Schwab Monthly Income Fund - Income Payout (SWLRX), Schwab Monthly Income Fund - Flexible Payout (SWKRX) and Schwab Monthly Income Fund - Target Payout (SWJRX). The Schwab Monthly Income Fund - Target Payout (SWJRX), on the other hand, aims to offer a 5% annual payout. Managed payout funds are not offered in many defined contribution plans, such as 401(k)s. In fact, a 2022 Cerulli survey of defined contribution plan consultants showed just 17% of the plans offered any managed payout funds.

watch nowJob creation topped expectations in February, but the unemployment rate moved higher and employment growth from the previous two months wasn't nearly as hot as initially reported. Nonfarm payrolls increased by 275,000 for the month while the jobless rate moved higher to 3.9%, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. The jobless level increased as the household survey, used to calculate the unemployment rate, showed a decline of 184,000 in those employed. The increase came even though the labor force participation rate held steady at 62.5%, though the "prime age" rate increased to 83.5%, up two-tenths of a percentage point. An alternative jobless measure, sometimes called the "real" unemployment rate, that includes discouraged workers and those holding part-time jobs for economic reasons rose slightly to 7.3%.
