CNN —17-year-old Real Madrid-bound sensation Endrick has earned a milestone call up to the senior Brazil men’s national team. Interim Canarinha head coach Fernando Diniz announced his squad on Monday for Brazil’s 2026 World Cup qualifier later this month and revealed that the uncapped Endrick will feature in the national team for the first time. In doing so, the Palmeiras breakout star became the youngest player to get a senior Seleção call-up since iconic striker Ronaldo Nazario in 1994. Ronaldo – nicknamed O Fenômeno – is considered one of the greatest soccer players of all time and won the World Cup twice with Brazil. The top six teams automatically qualify for the 2026 World Cup which is being hosted in the US, Canada and Mexico, while the seventh-placed nation must go through a play-off to reach international soccer’s showpiece competition.

The DVD service was particularly handy when I decided to embark on a career-spanning marathon of all Martin Scorsese’s movies. The most rented movie overall was “The Blind Side” (never saw it) and the most rented TV show “Dexter” (a video store rental for me in 2010). THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Rams cornerback Derion Kendrick could play on Sunday, less than a week after he was arrested and charged with two gun offenses. Kendrick returned to practice Friday, and coach Sean McVay described the second-year pro as “remorseful and regretful” for the disturbance he caused to the Rams (3-3). McVay said he hasn't decided whether Kendrick, who has started every game this season, will suit up when Los Angeles hosts Pittsburgh (3-2) on Sunday. Kendrick was away from the Rams’ training complex until Thursday, when he returned and spoke at length to McVay. The coach said he emerged from the conversation believing Kendrick can use his latest arrest "as a learning opportunity.”“I trust this kid’s heart,” McVay added.

Mr. Jordan then received his party’s nomination to be speaker, but he failed to win the post in votes by the full House on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Representative Jim Jordan, the hard-line Republican from Ohio, does not plan to force a third vote on Thursday on his bid to become speaker after running headlong into opposition from a bloc of mainstream G.O.P. Instead, Mr. Jordan will endorse a plan to empower Representative Patrick T. McHenry of North Carolina — the temporary speaker whose role is primarily to hold an election for a speaker — to carry out the chamber’s work through Jan. 3. In the meantime, Mr. Jordan will continue trying to build support to become speaker. After he failed to win a majority on Tuesday, Mr. Jordan was defeated again on Wednesday when the number of Republicans refusing to back him grew. With little hope of making up the lost ground, Mr. Jordan called for a closed-door meeting of Republicans on Thursday morning to discuss his next steps.
