Memecoins have seen some of the biggest gains in the postelection crypto rally, but market leadership could soon flip to more "serious" tokens. "We don't expect the rally to resemble the '17 or '21 bull markets and would fade the rally for 99% of tokens in circulation with no intrinsic value," Shah said in a note this week. "We expect token prices to diverge in the near term as BTC and cash flow-generating tokens that power networks outperform meme tokens." "These tokens power blockchain operating systems, similar to Microsoft Windows, that enable developers to build applications like decentralized exchanges and Web3 platforms on top of them, creating networks with value." CNBC's Jim Cramer on Thursday suggested the post-election market has been extreme, with big wins and big losses. "We have a lot of overly loved stocks in this market right now," he said. Cramer pointed out the sharp rise of enterprise software stocks, saying that it seems these companies with in-demand products for big corporations can do no wrong. Cramer also highlighted two sectors he said are "too hated," but could bounce back, including pharmaceuticals and semiconductors. For semiconductors, Cramer concluded that those companies have suffered in part because some feel that new artificial intelligence-powered PCs haven't taken off.

Disney has done the math on separating its TV networks business, and it appears too messy to be done — at least for now. The company's chief financial officer, Hugh Johnston, said Thursday on CNBC's "Squawk Box" that the "cost is probably more than the benefit" when it comes to separating its TV networks business, given the "operational complexity." The future of the traditional TV network business has been top of mind in the media industry. In late October, Comcast executives said they were exploring a separation of the cable networks business. Disney reported Thursday that revenue for its traditional TV networks was down 6% for its most recent quarter to $2.46 billion, while profit in the division sank 38% to $498 million.
