LONDON, Oct 2 (Reuters) - A second British police force said on Monday it had launched an investigation following allegations of harassment and stalking made against actor and comedian Russell Brand. Brand has rejected the "very serious criminal allegations", saying on his social media channels that he had never had non-consensual sex. "Thames Valley Police in the past two weeks received new information in relation to harassment and stalking allegations dating back to 2018," the force said in a statement. "This information is being investigated; as such it would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation." There was no immediate response to a request for comment from representatives for Brand.

HONG KONG (AP) — Police in Hong Kong and Macao said Friday they arrested four more people linked to the cryptocurrency platform JPEX, which is suspected to have defrauded more than 2,400 people of almost $200 million. Police have received 2,417 reports involving more than 1.5 billion Hong Kong dollars ($191.6 million) in alleged losses on the platform. Hong Kong police said in a news conference Friday they had arrested two men, one of whom had been trying to destroy documents with paper shredders and bleach. CNN —The biggest-ever drug seizure in the history of Ireland was intercepted off the coast of Cork in the southeast of the country on Tuesday, Irish police said. “It is the largest drug seizure in the history of the State,” Justin Kelly, Assistant Commissioner of An Garda Síochána, Ireland’s police force, said at the same conference. Three men, aged 31, 50 and 60, have been arrested on suspicion of organized crime and are currently being questioned at Garda stations in County Wexford, according to a Garda press release.
