It was exactly the kind of rhetoric that the Harris campaign believes could prompt moderate voters and disaffected Republicans to choose the vice president. Harris was in red-state Texas on Friday to highlight hardline GOP abortion policies she warns could spread countrywide if Trump wins. The CNN Poll of Polls shows no clear leader nationally with Harris at 48% and Trump at 47%. Harris’ rally will provide an emphatic exclamation point for an increasingly important theme of her campaign — that Trump represents an existential threat to American democracy. Both Trump and Harris are targeting strategic sectors of their core electorates in the final days.

CNN —Philadelphia’s district attorney asked a state judge on Monday to shut down tech billionaire Elon Musk’s controversial $1 million giveaway to registered voters, calling it an “illegal lottery scheme.”Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, a Democrat, filed the civil lawsuit against Musk and his pro-Trump group, America PAC. “America PAC and Musk are lulling Philadelphia citizens – and others in the Commonwealth (and other swing states in the upcoming election) – to give up their personal identifying information and make a political pledge in exchange for the chance to win $1 million,” the lawsuit alleges. And it is indisputably an unlawful lottery.”A spokesperson for Musk’s super PAC did not comment on the lawsuit and instead highlighted the group’s latest $1 million winner, announced Monday – a registered voter from Hastings, Michigan. Krasner said his lawsuit was not about state and federal laws that prohibit vote-buying. The US Justice Department has also warned Musk’s super PAC that his giveaway might violate federal laws that criminalize offering cash for voter registration.

CNN —Dwyane Wade’s status as a Miami Heat legend was further cemented on Sunday as the franchise unveiled an eight-foot statue of the three-time NBA champion. The 42-year-old played 16 seasons in the NBA and was selected as an All-Star 13 times before retiring in 2019. One comment on an Instagram video of the unveiling said that the statue better resembled Laurence Fishburne as ’Morpheus’ from the movie ‘The Matrix’ than Wade. Fans criticized the likeness of the statue although Wade himself didn't seem too bothered and was relishing the moment. Consider an average of recent polling data on Hispanic voters: Kamala Harris is ahead of Trump by just 13 points. That’s well off an average of post-election and exit poll data from 2020, when Joe Biden carried Hispanic voters by 26 points. Trump lost Hispanic voters by 39 points to Hillary Clinton, according to an average of exit poll and post-election data. Trump has been doing particularly well among Hispanic men, as well as Hispanic voters without a college degree. Immigration ranked third for all likely voters, at 12%, which, again, mirrors the 15% of likely Hispanic voters who felt the same way.

Republican presidential nominee and former U.S. President Donald Trump speaks during a rally at Madison Square Garden, in New York, U.S., October 27, 2024. Andrew Kelly | ReutersRepublican presidential candidate Donald Trump headlined a rally at New York's Madison Square Garden on Sunday that began with a series of vulgar and racist remarks by allies of the former president. Danielle Alvarez, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, told Reuters that the joke about Puerto Rico "does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign." Harris's campaign in an email said the Madison Square Garden rally was "mirroring the same dangerously divisive and demeaning message" as Trump. Trump's 2016 presidential opponent, Democrat Hillary Clinton, has accused him of "re-enacting" a pro-Nazi rally that was held at Madison Square Garden in 1939 on the eve of World War Two.

It’s a feeling permeating the heavily Jewish neighborhood — and one that has affected how the swing-state community has processed the 2024 election. The ads are part of an effort to energize male voters as Harris seeks to narrow the gender gap in support for her and for former President Donald Trump. Tim Walz, are continuing their outreach to male voters with campaign events, interviews and digital media content. Trump has waded into deep blue territory to boost his candidacy among Black and Latino voters. He has sought to use this issue to cut into Harris' support among the very groups she'll need to win the presidency. This includes Black voters, who for decades have overwhelmingly backed Democratic politicians, and Latino voters, who have become less Democratic as a whole in recent years. A recent GenForward survey showed that 26% of young Black men backed Trump, compared to 58% who supported Harris. During a June debate with President Joe Biden, Trump said migrants were taking "Black jobs" and "Hispanic jobs."
