London CNN —A man has been charged with two counts of murder following the discovery of human remains at a famous bridge in southwest England. Yostin Andres Mosquera, a 34-year-old Colombian national, was arrested in Bristol early Saturday and charged on Monday, London’s Metropolitan Police said in a statement. The remains were found in suitcases at Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol last week, as well as at Mosquera’s address in Shepherd’s Bush, a neighborhood in west London. Forensic officers in Shepherd's Bush on Saturday. “I know that this awful incident will cause concern not just among residents in Shepherd’s Bush but in the wider LGBTQ+ community across London,” he said.

CNN —UK police have arrested a 34-year-old man as part of a search to identify those responsible for leaving two suitcases of human remains at a famous bridge in western England earlier this week. At this stage police are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, the statement added. Saturday’s arrest was hailed as a “significant development” in the police’s investigation by deputy assistant commissioner Andy Valentine. Police believe the human remains found in the London apartment are connected to those found in Bristol. Authorities are now on the hunt for a Colombian man thought to be linked to the case. Officers said their priority is to find Yostin Andres Mosquera, a 24-year-old Colombian national, naming him for the first time. They released a photo of Mosquera clad in a black Adidas baseball cap, black jeans, a black jacket, black trainers with thick white soles, with a black backpack. Kyle Clifford, 26, was found by officers in Enfield, north London, on Wednesday following an extensive manhunt, and arrested on Thursday in connection with the killing.

A U.S. marshal on a Supreme Court security detail shot and wounded an armed man who tried to carjack him early Friday near Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s home in northwest Washington, according to court documents. The marshal was sitting in an unmarked federal vehicle when a silver Toyota minivan pulled over next to him, according to court documents. A second U.S. marshal from another vehicle also responded and fired his weapon, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Around 8 in 10 people infected with West Nile virus don’t show symptoms. These symptoms can often be confused with those of other viruses, so the majority of West Nile cases are never diagnosed. The CDC’s tally for West Nile cases this year is likely an undercount, since several states have reported additional human cases in recent weeks. Raman said he’s worried about more West Nile transmission during monsoon season in the Las Vegas area, which is expected to start soon. Fourteen rare Angkor era sculptures tied to a controversial art dealer and collector were returned to Cambodia from New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art earlier this week. It's time for the Fed to cut rates at the end of July. Add to that the moderation in the consumer price index , the producer price index and the personal consumption expenditures price index – the Fed's preferred inflation gauge – and the need to wait for further signs of improvement seems like overkill. Also, if the Fed dials back policy later – rather than sooner – there will be claims of political interference if it cut rates immediately before the presidential election. The central bank has been dealing with an economy-crashing pandemic, a surge in prices and uncertainty over how its policies would affect the broad economy, inflation and consumer behavior over time. This is a factor that will likely drive inflation rates lower.

Americans will be splashing around this summer in the backyard pools they've already got, but not splashing out as much on new ones. Swimming pool installations were part of the home improvement frenzy that swept the country during the pandemic as Americans were stuck at home. Pool Corp., a national pool equipment distributor with a roughly $11 billion market valuation, said last week it expects new pool construction to fall by 15% to 20% this year. But businesses that rely on Americans' appetite for home upgrades are still adjusting to leaner times — including pool builders.
