REUTERS/Edgar SuLONDON, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Bitcoin is struggling to go green, with the cryptocurrency making only slim gains in its usage of sustainable energy in the year to January, research by Cambridge university showed on Tuesday. Processing bitcoin transactions and "mining" new tokens is done by powerful computers, hooked up to a global network, that compete against others to solve complex mathematical puzzles. Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com RegisterProjects have sought ways to shift bitcoin mining towards cleaner energy, such as repurposing heat byproducts from oil extraction for crypto mining. Bitcoin mining is mostly unregulated and opaque, with few centralised bodies gathering data. The Cambridge study was based on data on the geographical spread of mining across the world and the energy mix of individual countries.
"In a five- to 10-year timeframe, quantum computing will break encryption as we know it." Since its conceptual birth in the early 1980s, quantum computing has held promise for systems that could exponentially outperform today's computers. Rather than leaning on the zeroes and ones of classical computers, quantum computers emerged from quantum physics, which is the study of the fundamental building blocks of matter and energy. Those strange properties account for the technology's potentially explosive abilities; each additional qubit doubles a quantum computer's power. They are named D-Wave Systems , Rigetti Computing, IonQ , and Quantum Computing.

You’re in the middle of a job interview, a question comes your way and you’ve got… nothing. Even if you’ve prepared for hours, a question can come out of the blue and leave you stumped. Interviewers are going to want to hear about how you’ve handled tough situations or problems in your previous roles. “You can say: ‘That’s a great question, let me think about that for a second,’ look up and around and gather your thoughts,” said Ruggiero. “Repeat the question back to the hiring manager: ‘Now let me get this straight: Are you asking XXXX?’” said Skirboll.
Because it doesn't require a credit history or credit score, secured credit cards are an appealing option for building a credit history. How secured credit cards workTraditional credit cards use undisclosed mathematical algorithms that rope in credit score, income, and payment history to determine your credit limit. Step 2: Find which secured credit card is right for youMost major credit card companies, including banks and credit unions, offer a secured credit card option. Though secured credit cards offer a way to build credit, they are subject to the same rules as normal credit cards. With little-to-no prior credit requirements, secured credit cards are one way to reestablish credit or start a credit history.
Since we were all a bunch of super competitive analytical type students, the school was a hotbed for poker players. From 2010 to 2017, I earned $3 million playing live and online tournaments (online under the name xx23xx). From an outsider's perspective, it may seem glamorous, but poker is also mentally and physically drainingLiu with fellow players at a poker tournament. By 2017, I didn't like the trajectory my life was heading, so after a brief marriage to a fellow player, I left the circuit to live life at a slower pace in Vancouver. Now that live events are back, I'm getting back into poker in different waysI'm doing live poker tournament commentating work in English and Mandarin because there's a broader international audience these days.
