The drug works in part by clearing toxic plaques in the brain called amyloid, a hallmark of Alzheimer's, according to its manufacturers. The Mayo Clinic's center, which began screening patients for Leqembi in October, has 50 to 60 patients currently taking the drug, according to Petersen. The Mayo Clinic's Alzheimer's center similarly stops dosing patients if ARIA appears on an MRI, according to Petersen. Meeks' neurologist, Dr. Wendell Helveston, said a follow-up MRI picked up one small area of bleeding in her brain that didn't cause any symptoms.

Telegram is an encrypted messaging service that was launched in 2013 by Durov and his brother, Nikolai. The high court is packed with Maduro loyalists and has almost never ruled against the government. Venezuelan Supreme Court of Justice President Caryslia Rodriguez in Caracas on Aug. 22. Gabriel Boric, the leftist president of Chile and one of the main critics of Maduro’s election gambit, lambasted the high court’s certification. “Today, Venezuela’s TSJ has finally consolidated the fraud,” he said on his X account referring to the initials of the high court.

New York CNN —A man suing Walt Disney Parks and Resorts for the wrongful death of his wife is facing a new legal hurdle: Disney is trying to get it dismissed and sent to arbitration — because he signed up for Disney+ years earlier. CNN —Tropical Storm Ernesto is slamming the northern Caribbean with heavy rain, gusty winds and rough seas Tuesday as it sets up to take a swipe at Puerto Rico. Satellite imagery captures Tropical Storm Ernesto churning over the northeastern Caribbean as the sun rises Tuesday morning. Tropical storm warnings are in effect for Puerto Rico and the Leeward Islands, including the US and British Virgin Islands. Rainfall totals of 4 to 6 inches will be widespread, with up to 10 inches possible in parts of Puerto Rico. Flash flooding and mudslides are possible as a result, especially in the higher terrain areas of eastern and southern Puerto Rico.

CNN —Russian forces started a fire at the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in southern Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a Telegram post Sunday. Zelensky posted a video showing a large plume of smoke coming out of one of the towers on the plant’s territory.
