After humming along to the melody, Jackson sweetly says, “It’s nice, it’s nice,” at the end of the clip. In the caption, Jackson wrote, “i LUV it @taylorswift #snowonthebeach #taylorswift #lanadelray”. “Midnights,” Swift’s tenth original studio album, is already breaking records, with Spotify announcing on Saturday that it helped the ever-popular “Evermore” singer to achieve new heights. “Midnights” on Friday became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day, the music streaming platform shared. That feat also allowed Swift to break the record for the most-streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history.
The consensus forecast from economists surveyed by Reuters is that GDP grew at an annualized pace of 2.1% in the third quarter. (This will be the first estimate for third-quarter GDP, and there will be several revisions in the coming weeks.) That also means the Fed will likely continue to sharply raise interest rates to finally choke off inflation once and for all. Those rate hikes helped cause a so-called double-dip recession, where the economy suffered two downturns between 1980 and 1982. In other words, the much-hoped-for “soft landing” for the economy could turn out to be a pipe dream.
Stocks rallied this week as earnings season ramped up and is so far off to a better-than-expected start. With 20% of the S & P 500 having reported financials so far, sales results have thus far been 1.4% above expectations while earnings results are 5.4% above expectations, in aggregate. That inverse correlation between bond yields and stocks was powerful enough to trump positive earnings reports. SPARTANBURG, S.C. Oct 19 (Reuters) - Boeing Co (BA.N) won support Wednesday from a Republican senator and a major customer in its bid to convince the U.S. Congress to extend the deadline to win certification of two new 737 MAX variants. The U.S. planemaker faces a late December deadline for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to certify the MAX 7 and MAX 10. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham told Reuters he supports attaching a MAX deadline waiver to a spending bill or another measure before Congress. "We should all be rooting for Boeing," Kirby added, citing its impact on the U.S. economy and exports. loadingEven with a waiver, it is uncertain when MAX planes could be approved.
Oct 17 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday gave a boost to Domino's Pizza Inc's (DPZ.N) bid to force delivery drivers to bring a wage lawsuit in private arbitration rather than in court in a case from California that could have major implications for gig economy companies. Business groups have called arbitration a quicker and more efficient alternative to suing in court. Three delivery drivers sued Domino's in California state court in Santa Ana in 2020, accusing the company of violating various wage laws, and the case was subsequently transferred to federal court. Domino's made a motion to send the claims to arbitration, citing agreements that the drivers had signed barring them from suing in court. Domino's then appealed to the Supreme Court.
CNN —Nicki Minaj has a message for the Recording Academy after they moved her song “Super Freaky Girl” from a rap category to a pop category for award consideration. “I have no prob being moved out the RAP category as long as we r ALL being treated FAIRLY. If SFG (‘Super Freaky Girl’) has 2B moved out RAP then so does Big Energy!” Minaj wrote in a series of tweets, referring to the Latto song. “If ‘Super Freaky Girl’ is pop, then so is ‘Big Energy.’ If you move ‘Super Freaky Girl’ out of rap and put it in pop, do the same with ‘Big Energy.’ Right? The Recording Academy has not publicly stated the reasoning for placing “Super Freaky Girl,” which samples “Super Freak” by Rick James, in the pop category.
The first Boeing 737 MAX 7 is unveiled in Renton, Washington, U.S. February 5, 2018. REUTERS/Jason Redmond/File PhotoWASHINGTON, Oct 11 (Reuters) - The latest version of the U.S. Senate's defense bill does not contain an amendment to extend a December deadline for Boeing Co (BA.N) to win regulatory approval for the 737 MAX 7 and MAX 10 jetliners, according to sources and documents seen by Reuters. Unless it gains an extension from Congress, Boeing must meet new modern cockpit-alerting requirements that could significantly delay the planes' entry into service. Wicker had sought to attach the measure to the version of the defense bill that was filed on Tuesday. There are other opportunities to make changes to the defense bill and an extension could be attached to other measures Congress will consider before year end.

WASHINGTON, Sept 28 (Reuters) - JetBlue (JBLU.O) Chief Executive Robin Hayes staunchly defended his company's alliance with larger rival American Airlines (AAL.O) on Wednesday, denying the U.S. government's allegations that the agreement would defang the low-cost carrier. Hayes said that JetBlue did not consult with American on pricing in the northeast or anywhere else, and did not pull its punches in competing with American. For example, he said, JetBlue had 150 or 160 departures a day at JFK before the alliance but is now up to about 200, using what had been American slots. "We entered the Northeast Alliance because it will allow JetBlue to accelerate our business model in the northeast," he said, adding that JetBlue, which has a reputation in the industry of being a disruptor, had no plans to change. JetBlue also has a plan in place to buy low cost rival Spirit SAVE.N, a deal that is expected to face a tough antitrust review.
