When CNBC's Jim Cramer asked AMD CEO Lisa Su about competition with artificial intelligence powerhouse Nvidia , she said there was room for more than one major player in the red-hot semiconductor industry. "The way to think about it is, there's no one size fits all in computing," she said. Both AMD and Nvidia design semiconductor chips essential for the new generative AI technology everyone in the enterprise is clamoring for. To Su, the "technology ecosystem" works well when there's competition and partnership, saying there should be areas where rivals work together and where they compete. Su also discussed the future of AI, saying the world is just beginning to recognize what AI can do.

“I’m here to support my wife and everybody else that deserves the right to have freedom of their reproductive rights,” said Goldberg, a 70-year-old retired computer software developer. Women clearly feel the impact of abortion restrictions, said Harris campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez. At the same time, he argued, there’s no precedent for reproductive rights being a driving issue for men. The couple has become surrogates for the Harris campaign on reproductive rights, including at last month’s Democratic National Convention. “I’m here because the fight for reproductive rights isn’t just a women’s fight,” Josh Zurawski said at the Chicago convention.

Companies can face data-security challenges with cloud storage and access management. Dan Benjamin, the senior director of product management at Prisma Cloud, a cloud-security platform made by Palo Alto Networks, said that incorporating data-security posture management into cybersecurity strategies could help solve many of these problems. This is crucial, as an IBM report published in 2023 estimated that 82% of data breaches involved data stored in the cloud. Organizations also often use several cloud systems and sometimes lack a solid security strategy for maintaining, updating, and securing data. Liat Hayun, the vice president of product management and research of cloud security at the cybersecurity company Tenable, said cloud environments' flexibility makes them attractive to companies.

While Wall Street widely expects the Fed to cut rates after its meeting later this week, it remains up in the air how large the cut will be. Some expect a 25 basis-point cut, while others are hoping for a 50 basis-point cut. According to Cramer, investors took profits in tech and bought cyclical stocks because many anticipate a higher rate cut. He suggested that if the Fed decides to cut rates by 0.25%, investors will shift back into tech, and Monday's winners will suffer. It flows right back to where it came from: The tech stocks that got sold today," he said.

"And these hyperscalers have very strong incentive, ambition to towards building continually, investing in large language models to basically create models that are smarter and smarter." No one can keep former President Donald Trump away from Laura Loomer. A senior official from Trump’s 2020 campaign team said that helps explain why Loomer is no longer being kept at arm’s length. “Senator Graham is working tirelessly day and night to help re-elect President Trump,” Graham communications director Taylor Reidy responded in a statement to NBC News. "Brick and mortar is never going to be dead, and you have to invest in your stores to make them exciting for your customers," she said. Dillon, who served as the CEO of Ulta Beauty before taking the reigns at Foot Locker two years ago, has focused on improving the company's stores and strengthening brand partnerships. Dillon said the Foot Locker plans to have two thirds of its stores "refreshed" by the end of 2025. CNBC's Jim Cramer on Friday guided investors through next week's top Wall Street action, highlighting a long-awaited interest rate decision from the Federal Reserve and earnings from restaurant chain companies Darden and Cracker Barrel. Investors are broadly expecting the central bank to issue a rate cut but are unsure whether it will be by 25 or 50 basis points. Cramer said he's betting on the former, saying he thinks the Fed should be measured when making cuts and not risk an inflation flareup. He added that he thinks the stock is a bargain, but cautioned that Wall Street tends to sell stocks from that sector when the Fed cuts rates. On Thursday, Olive Garden-parent Darden , Cracker Barrel and FedEx are set to report.

"There are routine categories of illicit acts that wealthy individuals often endeavor out of sheer greed," Matthew Barhoma, a Los Angeles defense attorney, told Business Insider. Insider trading is 'rampant' among some wealthy circlesAnother common unlawful method that some of the rich use to get richer is insider trading, according to the attorneys. Like insider trading, money laundering — a process used to conceal the source of illegally obtained cash — is another illicit tactic used by some wealthy individuals, according to the defense attorneys. "Having dealt a lot with people who devise these kinds of fraudulent financial transactions, I will say that many of them are absolutely brilliant," said Ressler.

In the first college admissions process since the Supreme Court struck down affirmative action last year, Asian American enrollment at the most prestigious U.S. schools paints a mixed, uneven picture. Columbia University — which, unlike the other Ivies, groups Pacific Islanders with Asian Americans — saw an increase of nine percentage points in its enrollment of Asian American applicants, while Brown saw an increase of four percentage points. It doesn’t mean that race is entirely ruled out of the admissions process, however. Poon, who is the author of “Asian American is Not a Color: Conversations about Race, Affirmative Action, and Family,” said that with race masked in the admissions process, concerns around biases are actually more prevalent. And it’s going to be difficult to determine, for example, why there were drops in Asian American enrollment at some schools as well.

WASHINGTON — Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado told Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Ben Cardin on Wednesday that support from the United States is a “moral reference” for those protesting the government of President Nicolás Maduro, according to a summary of the call obtained first by NBC News. A bipartisan group of senators, including Cardin, issued a joint statement supporting the opposition before the call took place Wednesday. The call with Cardin was the first time Machado has spoken with a U.S. official since González’ exile. Despite that, and the exile of González, Machado insisted that her opposition campaign is still strong and reiterated that Venezuelans are united. “If all Venezuelans that are abroad or young people that were not allowed to register had voted, the result would have been 90 to 10,” against Maduro, Machado said on the call.

American Airlines flight attendants approved a five-year labor deal, ending one of the industry's most contentious contract negotiations and giving cabin crews raises of up to 20.5% at the start of October. Eighty-seven percent of the American Airlines flight attendants who voted approved the contract, the union said Thursday, shortly after polls closed. Flight attendants are the biggest unionized work group at the Fort Worth-based airline. "Reaching an agreement for our flight attendants has been a top priority, and today, we celebrate achieving this important milestone," American CEO Robert Isom said in a statement. United Airlines and its flight attendants' union are still negotiating for a new contract, while Alaska Airlines cabin crew members recently rejected a tentative labor deal.
