It's the end of the world as we know it and I feed fine — because Costco has an emergency dinner kit, dubbed online as "the apocalypse bucket," that lasts 25 years. The Readywise Emergency Food Bucket boasts 150 freeze-dried and dehydrated meal servings and has caused a stir on social media. And, crucially for those preparing for an apocalypse, the bucket lasts up to 25 years on the shelf. Some talked about if there was a real apocalypse, it could be difficult to get water to prepare the meals. That's more scary than the apocalypse," a commenter wrote, meanwhile another quipped, "So if the apocalypse doesn't kill you, this bucket of chemicals will."

Menendez maintains his innocence and plans to appeal the verdict, he told reporters outside the Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday. The discovery that Menendez owned a hoard of gold bars stunned many people. And now even Costco sells gold bars. The two kilograms and 11 ounces worth of gold bars Menendez and his wife possessed would have been worth over $185,000 as of Tuesday, according to Goldprice.org data. Other people who prefer to keep gold under their own roof store it in a gun safe or floor safe, he added.

Retailers' profits are seeing a pinch as inflation cools — and in some categories, even reverses. For Costco, raising membership fees can offset some of that deflationary bite. The wholesale club prides itself on ultra-low markups, and membership fees help it do that. download the app Email address Sign up By clicking “Sign Up”, you accept our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy . A fall in prices (known as deflation) can put a pinch on retailers' profits as they must offer better promotions and discounts to keep shoppers coming back.

And while we expect Monday may not be a good day for tech stocks — remember it is only day three of the rotation — you have to buy AMD before the tide turns back to tech. I said that Best Buy was much more than just a brick-and-mortar company and that its integrity was high. More importantly, like AMD, Best Buy is where people will try out a new AI PC.

It's often said that you can buy anything at Costco, and that includes 22-inch chicken statues. A comically proportioned steel garden chicken has apparently struck a chord with Costco shoppers. The $38 product unexpectedly sold out online, leaving some Costco fans feeling left out. AdvertisementIf there are two things Costco is well known for, it's finding items you didn't know you wanted, and selling a lot of chickens. This week, those two things converged — in a way — when the company unexpectedly sold out of a 22-inch tall garden statue of a rooster.

CNBC's Jim Cramer said Thursday that Costco 's membership fee hike suggests inflation is becoming more manageable for consumers. The fee increase "is significant because management said it wasn't going to raise its membership fee until they saw inflation under control," Cramer said on " Squawk on the Street ." Costco late Wednesday announced its long-awaited membership fee increase — the first since 2017. The membership fee hike has been a second catalyst the Club has been waiting for. Profits from the fee increase will go into the bottom line while some will be reinvested in the business.
