High home prices and interest rates have created many challenges for young Americans. These trends have been driven by the combination of high home prices and interest rates. By pushing up the number of renters, high home prices help keep young Americans' rent prices high. For young Americans, there's not a whole lot to like about high interest rates. Elevated rates not only contribute to the high mortgage rates that have helped make homeownership so expensive but also make credit-card debt all the more costly.

Texas, already ensured its first winning record since 2016, led the AL West for 148 of the season’s first 149 days through Aug. 26. Disney’s theme parks reveal shrunken treasure

Acquire Licensing RightsNEW YORK, Sept 20 (Reuters Breakingviews) - Bob Iger can’t get off the roller coaster. Walt Disney’s (DIS.N) chief executive plans to double the Magic Kingdom’s investment in theme parks and other experiences to $60 billion over the course of about 10 years. On the other, Disney’s dwindling cash and the increasing demands for it is cause for concern. One issue is that Disney’s free cash flow has plummeted. No wonder adding theme parks to the list is making shareholders skittish.

Instead, gasoline prices are getting more expensive and are just pennies away from their highest level so far this year. Are rising oil prices another item to add to the list? How high do you think oil prices will go? When you adjust for inflation, oil isn’t that high right now. I think that we are going to see continued high prices for a lot of stuff, including gasoline, but I don’t think we’re gonna see an acceleration in prices.

Something like riding the world’s second-steepest wooden roller coaster, which boasts 60-mile-per-hour speeds and an 85-foot drop. June through August were the hottest months on record, the World Meteorological Organization said. The deadly extreme heat and other climate-fueled disasters are upending people's lives this summer. A summer of writing about disaster after disaster got me thinking: Will we look back on this summer as a turning point? More of us are feeling the whiplash: Americans are increasingly connecting the dots between disasters and the climate crisis. In the meantime, communities have to be better prepared because the next five years could continue to break temperature records , according to the World Meteorological Organization.

Last year marked the 10th anniversary of Tinder, the swipe-based dating app whose mainstream success completely redefined the rules of romance. While early episodes of the podcast featured recorded sets from those live shows, it’s since evolved into a more intimate format. Starter episode: “Gearóid Farrelly”Although it lasted less than two years, this soulful, searching series about digital courtship feels as if it was around much longer. That’s in large part because it shape-shifted midway through its run when its host, Andrea Silenzi, went through a breakup. Opting to use her own situation as “a storytelling device,” Silenzi shares her confusion and heartbreak as she chronicles the indignities (and occasional joys) of app-based dating.

VENICE, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Elvis Presley's former wife Priscilla said the legendary rock star had been the love of her life, despite eventually leaving him, as a film about their turbulent relationship hit the Venice Film Festival. "Priscilla", directed by Sofia Coppola, is based on her 1985 autobiography, "Elvis and Me", depicting her roller-coaster life with one of the most famous figures of the 20th century. He was the love of my life, but it was the lifestyle that was so difficult for me," Priscilla told reporters in Venice ahead of the world premiere of the movie, which stars Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi. Priscilla Beaulieu met Elvis Presley in 1959 when she was just 14 and he was deeply homesick, stationed with the U.S. army in West Germany. "Priscilla" is one of 23 movies competing for the Golden Lion award at the Venice festival, which runs until Sept. 9.

Rent growth is rapidly decelerating across the US after taking off during the pandemic. Lower rent growth means that the cost of an apartment is still climbing, just at a slower pace. Renting may be expensive, but considering how many are feeling about the economy, it's easy to see why so many are sticking to apartments — especially as rent growth steadily slides. 42 cities that are getting more affordableBelow are 42 real estate markets where median rent for a one-bedroom apartment is lower than it was in 2022, according to Zumper. Along with each city are its year-over-year and month-over-month rent changes, average rent price, and national rent ranking among the largest 100 US cities.

Since then, it faced legal hurdles, and the Supreme Court struck the relief down in June. Since he took office, his administration was weighing its options to get relief to borrowers, and Biden himself even questioned his authority to enact broad debt relief. About a month after the debt relief announcement, applications opened for federal borrowers to apply for an up to $20,000 reduction to their balances. It did go all the way to the Supreme Court and was deemed ineligible. She blamed the industry's market structure and suggested consolidation had weakened competition. But Hollywood's problems aren't caused by consolidation, but rather a harrowing transition to streaming.
