As a therapist who works with teenagers, I routinely hear from clients that their parents consistently criticize kids’ phone use but don’t curb their own use. Parents often tell me the same thing — their kids are glued to their phones and don’t listen when they try to engage them. And when parents feel rejected, they also turn their attention to their phones. I tell parents and kids alike that everyone needs to make changes in their technology habits to restore positive communication and trust. Keeping phones out of the bedroom is a common rule among parents of tweens and teens, yet this rule doesn’t often apply to the parents (guilty as charged).

Only one National Football League team has an ownership structure that resembles a publicly traded company. The Green Bay Packers, who are the 12th most-valuable NFL franchise at $6.3 billion, according to CNBC's Official 2024 NFL Team Valuations, are the only publicly owned team in the league. The franchise is completely owned by stockholders, many of them Packers fans, in a structure established more than 100 years ago. The share offerings throughout the years have been used to pull the team out of rocky financial situations and do larger renovations of Lambeau Field. The unique structure puts the Packers among the teams that newly approved private equity investors will be least interested in.

BEIJING — The Chinese government is no longer allowing foreign adoptions of the country’s children, a spokesperson said Thursday. The only exception will be for blood relatives adopting a child or a stepchild, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said. Many foreigners have adopted children from China over the decades, visiting the country to pick them up and then bringing them to a new home overseas. China suspended international adoptions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The government later resumed adoptions for children who had received travel authorization before the suspension in 2020, the U.S. State Department said in its latest annual report on adoptions.
