Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris face off in the ABC presidential debate on Sept. 10, 2024. The previous Trump administration didn't pursue those types of consumer protections. In contrast, Democrats, including Harris, have historically supported EVs and incentives such as those under the Biden administration's signature Inflation Reduction Act. Meanwhile, Harris, if elected, can build on existing efforts of the Biden administration to deliver savings to more patients, they said. Trump also led multiple efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, including its expansion of Medicaid to low-income adults.

Berkshire Hathaway's Bank of America stake has finally been cut to below the key 10% threshold, keeping Warren Buffett's next potential moves under wraps for a few months. The first 700 million shares had a low cost basis of only about $7 per share, while the average cost of the next 300 million shares was in the $30s, Goldberg estimated. "When we sell something, very often it's going to be our entire stake," Buffett said in 2020 when he entirely dumped his holdings in airlines. "Business Light" fares are cheaper but can lack perks like lounge access or early seat selection. In recent years, international airlines such as Air France, KLM, Emirates, Finnair, and Qatar Airways have launched discounted "Business Light" tickets. Those traveling on a Finnair Business Light ticket will also have to pay extra for checked luggage. Union members are still angry that Boeing demanded they give up their traditional pension plans 10 years ago, when the company was doing well financially. Even with all of its problems, Boeing is likely at no risk of disappearing. If airlines that are Boeing customers cancel their order, they would have to wait five years for a comparable jet from Airbus. Boeing will discontinue that plane once its current orders are completed and delivered to customers in 2027. That plane is built by some of the union members now on strike.

Boeing agreed in July to plead guilty to conspiring to defraud regulators. Prosecutors arrived at the plea agreement after an extensive investigation and a series of meetings with the families, prosecutors said. He argued the judge should accept the plea agreement. The Justice Department argued that the penalties Boeing agreed to were the most serious available. The most luxurious experience of them all, however, could be found in the dining car. The latter was the first train car to offer on-board meals, including regional specialties like gumbo, which were prepared in a 3-foot-by-6 foot kitchen. By the 1870s, dining cars could be found on sleeper trains across North America. But this decentralized production model also contained the seed of dining car’s ultimate demise. And despite a revival of interest in train travel on the continent, dining cars (or certainly those equipped with kitchens) are now largely the preserve of tourist services.

A business class ticket can cost up to five times more than an economy ticket on Singapore Airlines — and a whopping 13 times more for a first-class one. A business class ticket jumps to SG$6,300, and a first-class ticket just over SG$13,000. Aaron Wong, who flies first and business class when he travels, says: "You don't need to be rich to enjoy such things." However, it's not as simple as just picking up any mile-earning credit card and spending a bunch of money, he said. For example, in Singapore, points earned on DBS credit cards can be combined, but credit cards from Citibank Singapore don't work that way.

That was partly offset from a $50 million fuel savings due to the grounded flights. Delta said it earned adjusted income of $971 million in the quarter, down 26% from a year earlier, on adjusted revenue of $14.6 billion in the quarter, essentially unchanged from a year ago, despite the hit to revenue from the service meltdown. But that was offset by a 3% increase in miles flown by passengers, as passengers soon returned to travel on Delta despite the service problems. And it reported a 9% drop in average fuel prices paid, the second largest cost at the airline behind labor costs. “I think you’re going to see it across consumer discretionary purchases as a whole,” “People want to find out what happens.

Agents deployed "military-style armored vehicles, with scores of heavily armed agents in full combat gear," according to the Combs filing.
