The lessors have so far unsuccessfully argued in Indian courts to get their planes back, citing concerns that parts could go missing and hurt their assets. In a non-public filing dated July 28 and reviewed by Reuters, ACG submitted pictures and details to the Delhi High Court, listing missing parts from two Airbus A320 planes it inspected. These included the captain's "side stick" used to fly the aircraft, a tiller that helps steer it while on the ground, engine fan blades that were "completely missing", a partly missing toilet seat and an escape slide that had been removed. The filing does not say who took out the parts or how they went missing. Go First, whose lessors also include Standard Chartered's Pembroke Aircraft Leasing, SMBC Aviation and BOC Aviation, did not respond to a request for comment.

BENGALURU, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Larsen & Toubro and Hindustan Aeronautics are among companies vetted to potentially bid in India's efforts to privatise its small satellite launch rocket, a source told Reuters, as the government seeks more investment in the booming space market. The Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) was developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the national space agency, as a low-cost means to launch satellites weighing up to 500 kg (1,102 lb) into low-earth orbit. They serve a booming market to launch clusters of satellites for communications and data that SpaceX and rivals compete in. India is aiming to increase its share of the global satellite launch market by fivefold within the next decade. Under that contract, the companies will manufacture and deliver five Polar Satellite Launch Vehicles (PSLV) - often called ISRO's "workhorse" rocket.

"There is an understanding with Tesla's proposal and government is showing interest," said the official, who is familiar with the issue. Indonesia, for example, has offered to reduce import duties from 50% to zero for EV makers planning investments, a move seen aimed at attracting Chinese players and Tesla. Tesla first tried to enter India in 2021 by pushing officials to lower the 100% import tax for EVs. One of the sources said Tesla told Indian officials a potential India factory could operate at full capacity by 2030. Outside the United States, Tesla currently has a plant in Shanghai - its largest factory worldwide - and one outside Berlin.

REUTERS/Amit Dave Acquire Licensing RightsBENGALURU, Aug 25 (Reuters) - On the heels of the success of the Chandrayaan-3 moon landing, India's space agency has set a date for its next mission - this time to study the sun. It aims to study solar winds, which can cause disturbance on earth and are commonly seen as "auroras". In 2019, the government sanctioned the equivalent of about $46 million for the Aditya-L1 mission. The Indian space agency has earned a reputation for world-beating cost competitiveness in space engineering that executives and planners expect will boost its now-privatised space industry. The Chandrayaan-3 mission, which landed a spacecraft on the lunar south pole, had a budget of about $75 million.

Invesco, a minor shareholder in Swiggy, in May valued the Indian company at around $5.5 billion, it said in a filing. DeSantis chose wrong Disney battle, right war

NEW YORK, Aug 22 (Reuters Breakingviews) - Florida Governor Ron DeSantis may have been politically foolish for picking a battle with Walt Disney (DIS.N), but economically speaking, he was on to something. Disney received special status in 1967 after it agreed to help drain the Florida swamp, literally, and build an entertainment park in exchange for special designation. DeSantis seized on the remarks, and with Florida lawmakers earlier this year, took control of the special board. Last week Disney filed a counterclaim to regain control. DeSantis chose the wrong battle but the right war.

The Deloitte company logo is seen at their office in Gurugram, India, June 13, 2023. The auditor's resignation has brought fresh scrutiny of the financial management at Adani Group, led by Indian billionaire Gautam Adani. "The Audit Committee (of Adani Ports) was of the view that the grounds advanced by Deloitte for resignation as Statutory Auditor were not convincing or sufficient to warrant such a move," it said. Adani Ports has named MSKA & Associates, an independent member firm of BDO International, as its new auditor, it said in the statement. Deloitte in May first pointed to certain transactions flagged by Hindenburg in its report and gave only a qualified opinion related to Adani Ports, indicating concerns by a company's auditor.

A Subway store manager in New Delhi told Reuters the new cheese sauce costs 400 rupees/kilogram. A cheese slice, said Culinary Brands' marketing head Mayur Hola, "can be added on at a small cost". WASHINGTON, Aug 10 (Reuters Breakingviews) - The United States may be over the hump on inflation, but consumers aren’t acting like it.
