SLB (SLB) has been on our radar for some time and its recent underperformance produces an interesting opportunity to gain long exposure with substantial upside potential. That's nearly a 35% discount to the average S & P 500 stock, implying that the technical upside target is well within its historical valuation range. With low volatility, options prices on SLB are extremely inexpensive and would benefit from a simple strategy such as buying a call option. Additionally, we are only risking 7.7% of the stock's price to gain unlimited upside exposure. BEFORE MAKING ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS, YOU SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER SEEKING ADVICE FROM YOUR OWN FINANCIAL OR INVESTMENT ADVISOR.

Apple and Alphabet pulled back to the support levels we highlighted and have since rallied strongly. As we can see, $400 served as a key support level three times early this year (the second black horizontal line). Here, we are again applying the polarity principle and using prior resistance as the new support level. We see that $166 has proven a key support level (the top black horizontal line) ever since that post-earnings breakout. Nvidia Potential entry points: $120, $110, and $100 Just below Tuesday's close, around $120, that's a battleground level (the top black horizontal line).

Bitcoin is testing a key level once again after the cryptocurrency fell below $60,000 this week for the first time since May 3. "There's key support at $57,500, the 200-day average, down to $56,500, the May low — and a downside breach would be damaging." It is currently suffering from a lack of near-term catalysts, low demand for bitcoin exchange-traded funds and miners' selling of bitcoin. But the figure of former President Jacob Zuma and his new political party uMkhonto – or simply “MK” – provoked more reaction. Jerome Delay/APMoreover, according to Herman, pro-Zuma conspiracy theories and propaganda, some with Russian fingerprints, had been flooding South African social media in the lead-up to the election. And even as Zuma takes pages from Trump’s playbook, South Africans may be telling a different narrative. Facing pressure, Zuma resigned as South African president in 2018. Though some South Africans still admire the US’ capitalist spirit, I find that the South African friends who visit me in the US don’t always feel at ease anymore.

The allegations provide a window into the scale and force of this Israeli operation to free hostages taken during the attack on Israel last October. The UN human rights office (OHCHR) warned that Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups may have committed war crimes through their actions. CNNMohammad told CNN that before the Israeli forces withdrew, they threatened to shoot his relatives, after which he heard gunshots. “I called the ambulance, but they said they cannot come because the area is dangerous,” Mohammad told CNN. Tyrian purple was a highly prized pigment developed in the Bronze Age, and it retained its status into the late medieval period. Several pottery fragments had residue of Tyrian purple pigment, the research team revealed. The well-preserved pigment could be used to dye textiles today, lead study author Dr. Lydia Berger said. Once collected, the snails had to be kept alive until the purple dye makers were ready to crush them and extract the mollusk’s mucus glands. The process came with a fishy odor, one that the researchers recognized when they came across the purple pigment residue in the recent excavation at Kolonna, she added.

Here's an update on the chart in a breakout shoemaker that is giving Nike a run for its money. In May, I wrote about On Holding AG (ONON) ahead of its earnings with a buy recommendation. You'll notice that the stock popped on the week of May 14th following the earnings report above the 2023 highs of $36.90. Looking at the valuation, NKE is trading about 26 times 2024 expected earnings and 25 times 2025 expected earnings. DECK is ranging from 10% to 20% revenue growth from the same period last year and ONON is running from 20% to 33% revenue growth.

The plea deal allows Assange to avoid prison in the US and return to his native Australia. “That never came up in our conversations,” said David Stilwell, the State Department assistant secretary for the Pacific region during the Trump administration. Sessions’ focus on national security-related leaks was “probably one of the reasons why the [Assange] case had more traction,” Hickey told CNN. Hickey said he was not involved in the Assange case when he was a senior official at DOJ’s National Security Division from 2016 to 2023. Stilwell, the former State Department official under the Trump administration, pushed back on the Assange plea deal.

CNN —Only a fraction of the violence that raged across Dagestan on Sunday is visible at the moment, and it is already horrific. But it is particularly bad in Dagestan, where protests broke out in the earlier months of the war, as their sons had been disproportionately mobilized. Putin came to power in 1999 graphically pledging to wipe out “in the toilet” the extremists apparently behind apartment bombings in Moscow. But it is still the same problem Putin faced when he sneaked into Beslan in 2004. A raging sore for the Kremlin, and a reminder of both how Putin came to power and his limits on it.

Read previewScientists have long suspected that industrial chemicals used in plastic water bottles can disrupt human hormones. Now, a groundbreaking new study shows direct evidence that bisphenol A — or, BPA, a chemical used to package food and drink — can reduce sensitivity to insulin, a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar. An impaired ability to respond to insulin, known as insulin resistance, can mean chronically high blood sugar levels and a much higher risk of type 2 diabetes. "We were surprised to see that reducing BPA exposure, such as using stainless steel or glass bottles and BPA-free cans, may lower diabetes risk."

Israel has also been weighing an all-out war with the group, with the country's defense minister, Israel Katz, saying on Tuesday that a decision on such a move was near. Scott Wren, a senior global market strategist at Wells Fargo Investment Institute, recently noted that market breadth is abnormally narrow. He found that the five best performers in the S&P 500 accounted for nearly three-fifths of its exceptional 10.6% year-to-date gain through May 31. That fate will soon apply to the S&P 500, Wren warned. Such a sell-off would take the S&P 500 below 5,000 for the first time since April. "And it's tough to be patient when the S&P 500 set a bunch of all-time high records."

CNN —The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) says at least 22 people were killed in a strike that hit civilians sheltering in southern Gaza on Friday. The strike hit the tents of displaced people in the Palestinian town of Mawasi, parts of which have been identified by the Israeli military as a humanitarian zone. Following the strike, a nearby Red Cross field hospital received 22 bodies and 45 injured, the ICRC said. The Gaza Ministry of Health said that 25 people were killed and 50 wounded in the attack. The Israeli military said the incident was under review but initial inquiries found “no indication” it was behind the strike in Mawasi.

"There are hybrid threats. NATO has also cautioned against intensifying Russian hybrid warfare in the region and in the rest of Europe that could include "disinformation, sabotage, acts of violence, cyber and electronic interference, and other hybrid operations." The murky nature of hybrid warfare can make it hard to identify and address potential threats. Yet, the Baltic countries are prioritizing hybrid threats and fortifying their institutions in response. Experts say Shein's U.S. IPO is all but dead

The Shein logo can be seen on a smartphone, while the Chinese online retailer's website is open on a laptop. China-founded e-commerce company Shein's hopes of going public in the United States are growing slimmer by the day, according to experts, as rising tensions between Beijing and the U.S. roil business and trade. A London IPO could, in theory, be easier than a U.S. offering, according to Bochanis. If Shein's London IPO succeeds, it is unlikely to keep pursuing a U.S. offering, said University of Florida finance professor Jay Ritter, who studies IPOs. It became one of the first prominent Chinese companies to do so in the U.S. even as the Biden administration has increasingly cracked down on Chinese-made electric vehicles.

Microsoft is up a pedestrian 10% since then, but combined, they've helped propel the SPDR Technology ETF (XLK) to a new all-time high. Indeed, there's nothing wrong with riding a trend, but many times a long uptrend starts with a pattern breakout. And starting in 2023, the following combination has produced the best results: rallying from a higher low as the stock's 14-day Relative Strength Index bottoms near 50. Low back pain affects at least 619 million people worldwide, and that number is expected to increase to 843 million people by 2050, according to research estimates. Unfortunately, nearly 70% of people who recover from an episode of low back pain have a recurrence within a year, experts say. Yet there is an easy, free way to prevent low back pain, at least for a while, according to a new randomized clinical trial. People in the study who walked regularly after having at least one episode of low back pain were pain free nearly twice as long as those who did not. “We also discussed simple strategies to reduce the risk of a recurrence of low back pain and instructions on how to self-manage any minor recurrences.

Today we celebrate Juneteenth, the day when word of the Emancipation Proclamation reached the farthest outpost in America. Many people do not realize that Emancipation did not legally end slavery in the United States, however. Some historians have described this convict leasing system as “worse than slavery,” because there was no incentive to avoid working those people to death. In fact, federal agencies are mandated to purchase goods from federal prisons, just as state or municipal agencies, including public schools and universities, often must consider sourcing from state penitentiaries. Labor that people have no meaningful right to refuse and that is enforced under conditions of total control is, unquestionably, slavery.

To the Editor:Re “Trump Resisters Draft Playbook in Case He Wins” (front page, June 16):The resistance to a potential second Trump administration is crucial. The efforts outlined, from drafting lawsuits to stockpiling abortion medication, highlight the severe threat that Donald Trump poses to American democracy. The coalition of progressive activists and former Republicans preparing to resist him shows the widespread recognition of the danger he represents. The fact that we must prepare for the possible authoritarian actions of a former president shows how fragile our democracy is. The preparations being made are not just about opposing Mr. Trump; they are about defending the very principles upon which our nation was founded.

Edwin Tan/E+/Getty ImagesWhat counts as resistance training? You can think of resistance training as “exercises that improve strength by making muscles work against a force,” said CNN fitness contributor Dana Santas, a mind-body coach for professional athletes. “For older adults, resistance training is crucial for maintaining muscle mass, bone density, and mobility,” she said.
