Sept 11 (Reuters) - Juventus's France midfielder Paul Pogba has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for a banned substance, Italy's national anti-doping (NADO Italia) tribunal said on Monday. The test, performed after Juve's 3-0 Serie A season-opening victory at Udinese on Aug. 20, detected testosterone, a hormone that increases athletes' endurance. The tribunal said Pogba had violated anti-doping rules when they found the prohibited substance "non-endogenous testosterone metabolites", adding that the results were "consistent with the exogenous origin of the target compounds". The 30-year-old Pogba was an unused substitute in the win at Udinese. If found guilty of doping, Pogba could be suspended for between two and four years.

REUTERS/Gwladys Fouche Acquire Licensing RightsOSLO, Sept 11 (Reuters) - An Indigenous Sami activist set up camp outside the Norwegian parliament on Monday to protest against wind turbines built on land traditionally used by Sami reindeer herders, saying he will stay there as long as the turbines remain in place. Norway's supreme court in October 2021 ruled that two wind farms built at Fosen in central Norway, part of Europe's largest onshore wind farm, violated Sami rights under international conventions. "I believe that there is only one solution and that is to tear down the wind turbines at Fosen." A US official said: "If Russia has an issue with that, they can withdraw their tanks from Ukraine." The official was responding to Russia's complaints over the US announcement that it would send Ukraine tank rounds with depleted uranium. "If Russia has an issue with that, they can withdraw their tanks from Ukraine," they added. The Biden administration announced plans on Wednesday to give Ukraine 120 mm ammunition made from depleted uranium, alongside other weaponry. The UK has already sent Ukraine some of the ammunition for use in UK-supplied Challenger tanks, angering Russia.

The US is set to send controversial radioactive munitions to Ukraine. Exposure to radioactive uranium dust could lead to detrimental health risks, including birth defects and cancers. The UK sent depleted uranium munitions earlier this year, Al Jazeera reported. Depleted uranium is a by-product of uranium enrichment, and its extreme density gives rounds the ability to easily penetrate armor plating and self-ignite. Franklin Foer’s “The Last Politician,” an account of Biden’s first two years in office, is the first draft of an answer. The problem is that, from Biden’s bleak inauguration to the surprise result of the midterms, we know the story in advance. Unless, as he seems at times to be hinting, the scripted, typecast feel that his book exudes is the truth about the present administration. One of the more telling cameos in the book describes how the Oval Office has been physically rearranged to create the stage for Biden’s presidential storytelling. A giant portrait of Franklin Roosevelt now takes “pride of place” above the office hearth.

The fine is valid as Meta is not respecting European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), said Hanne Inger Bjurstroem Jahren, a lawyer representing the regulator, Datatilsynet. "There is no discussion on whether the company is in violation of these rules ... Today Meta breaks GDPR rules," she told the court, speaking on the last day of a two-day hearing. Datatilsynet could make the fine permanent by referring its decision to the European Data Protection Board, which has the power to do so, if it agrees with the Norwegian regulator's decision.

Almost 40% of the developing world is in serious debt trouble, especially in Africa. In addition to the growing debts, developing countries are also facing higher interest rates. According to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, 3.3 billion people live in countries where the government spends more on debt interest payments than education or health. According to the UN report, countries facing "high levels of debt" more than doubled from 22 in 2011 to 59 in just 11 years. Another issue is that more and more debt in developing countries is held by private lenders who charge much higher interest rates.
