The court appearance comes after Guzmán López, 38, and Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, the cartel’s alleged co-founder, were arrested Thursday by US authorities in El Paso, Texas. The Duane Arnold Energy Center in Palo, Iowa ceased operations in 2020 after 45 years of service.
