CNN —Donald Trump announced on Thursday that his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, will be named his White House chief of staff. “Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns,” the president-elect said in a statement. It is a well deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history. “Susie Wiles ran Trump’s best campaign of the three, and it wasn’t particularly close,” Turning Point USA CEO Charlie Kirk wrote on X. Arizona voters on Tuesday approved an amendment enshrining abortion rights in the state constitution, NBC News projects. A fundamental right to abortion is part of the Arizona Constitution once and for all. In April, the conservative-leaning Arizona Supreme Court ruled to reinstate a near-total ban on abortion from 1864. Arizona for Abortion Access, the coalition of reproductive rights organizations behind the ballot effort, had shattered the record for the number of valid signatures gathered for a ballot initiative in the state. Constitutional amendments to enshrine abortion rights were on the general election ballots in nine other states Tuesday: Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New York and South Dakota.

Former Sen. Kelly Ayotte has won the New Hampshire governor’s race, NBC News projects, defeating Democrat Joyce Craig to keep the seat in Republican hands. Ayotte will succeed Republican Gov. Ayotte lost her re-election battle in 2016 to now-Sen. Maggie Hassan, a Democrat, by only about a thousand votes. She got her start in politics by serving on the Board of School Committee in Manchester, before serving as an alderman for six years. Craig and Ayotte won their parties’ primaries in September, leaving them with only about eight weeks to campaign in the general election period.

On the last day of a brutal, wild and tightly contested campaign, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris blitzed voters Monday with their final pleas for turnout. Harris and Trump both put their emphasis Monday on Pennsylvania, suggesting they still believe "Keystone State" is more than just a nickname. Its 19 electoral votes went for Trump in 2016 and Biden, who abandoned his re-election bid this summer, in 2020. Harris in particular focused on Pennsylvania, barnstorming the state with all four of her final-day rallies. Most of the rest of the country is considered safe turf for either Harris or Trump.

New York CNN —Journalists from multiple news organizations have been denied credentials to former President Donald Trump’s election night watch event in West Palm Beach, Florida, in retaliation for their coverage of Trump’s campaign. Reporters at Politico, Axios, Puck, Voice of America and Mother Jones were among those denied credentials. Some, like Politico, had been previously granted access to the Tuesday night event only to have the decision reversed. But around the time Palmeri published a piece about “anxiety” within the Trump campaign, her credential was denied. The Trump campaign and his former administration have a history of revoking credentials for reporters, often in retribution over their coverage.
