Astronomers have never detected dark matter, but they believe it makes up about 85% of the total matter in the universe. Meanwhile, the existence of dark energy helps researchers explain why the universe is expanding — and why that expansion is speeding up. A prime example is the European Space Agency’s wide-angle Euclid telescope that launched in 2023 to investigate the riddles of dark energy and dark matter. Euclid this week delivered the first piece of a cosmic map — containing about 100 million stars and galaxies — that will take six years to create. New York CNN —Keurig Dr Pepper will expand its energy drink business by acquiring the brand Ghost for more than $1 billion. The range of Ghost’s energy drink flavors, in partnership with sweet brands like Sour Patch Kids and Oreo, sets Keurig up to appeal to a younger audience, the company said in a statement Thursday. This is the biggest deal Keurig has signed off since acquiring Dr Pepper Snapple Group in 2018 for nearly $19 billion in cash, according to the Wall Street Journal. Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. (KDP) will acquire Ghost in two stages, paying $990 million in cash for 60% of the company by early 2025, then will buy the remaining stake in 2028, according to the statement. The deal includes Ghost’s sports nutrition business and energy drink arm.

Reddit acquired Memorable AI in August in a deal that valued the startup at just under $40 million, including performance-based earnouts. Memorable AI uses AI models to predict which images and videos will catch users' attention and encourage them to engage with an ad. Acevedo, a Memorable AI cofounder who had been the startup's CEO, now leads product for Reddit's new ads media intelligence team, which combines data on creative performance with the company's advertising AI models. Fosco, a fellow cofounder who had been Memorable AI's chief technology officer, leads engineering in the ads intelligence team. "The acquisition of Memorable AI, coupled with its focus on creative effectiveness, now gives Reddit the missing piece to continue improving performance for our advertisers," Fosco said.
