Amazon is cutting 5% of the workforce at its Audible division, according to an internal email obtained by Business Insider. On Thursday, Audible's CEO Bob Carrigan wrote an email to his team notifying the "tough decision to reduce roles within our organization," the email said. The job cuts follow broader layoffs at other parts of Amazon this week. Internal messages suggest more job cuts in Amazon Pay and marketing roles, as BI previously reported . Iberdrola (IBE.MC) declined to comment on any involvement in the ENWL sale process, which one of the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said is expected to start in December. Iberdrola is ramping up its investments in electricity networks, aiming to deploy 27 billion euros until 2025, with the goal of achieving 30% growth in core earnings of its networks unit to up to 8.5 billion euros. Iberdrola expects to receive around 6 billion euros from partnerships and asset sales by the end of the year that will help it close 2023 with a net debt of around 43 billion euros, roughly in line with 2022.

The White House on Friday lashed out at Elon Musk for promoting "Antisemitic and racist hate" after the Tesla CEO and X Corp. owner said he agreed with a social media post accusing "Jewish communities" of pushing "hatred against whites." Musk, responding on X, wrote that that post "said the actual truth." Bates appeared to be referring to the mass murder at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh in 2018, in which 11 people were shot to death by a gunman who expressed a belief in the antisemitic "white genocide" conspiracy theory. "We condemn this abhorrent promotion of Antisemitic and racist hate in the strongest terms, which runs against our core values as Americans," Bates said. Spokespeople for Tesla and X did not immediately respond to CNBC's requests for comment on the White House's statement.
