A hurricane watch and warnings of storm surges up to 15 feet high were issued Tuesday for almost all of Florida's western coastline as a potential tropical storm moves across the Caribbean Sea and towards the Gulf Coast. The hurricane watch extends from Indian Pass in north-west Florida near Panama City, down to Englewood, and includes Tampa Bay. Hurricane and tropical storm watches are now in effect for the entire western coast of the Sunshine State. A hurricane watch means that hurricane conditions are possible, and is typically issued 48 hours before the anticipated onslaught of tropical-storm-force winds and conditions. Outside of the U.S., a hurricane watch is also in effect for parts of eastern Mexico from Cabo Catoche to Tulum and Pinar del Río in Cuba.

Certain groups have been advocating for fetal personhood for decades, she said. So instead, fetal personhood was indirectly written into other areas of law, with a particular focus on advocating for prosecutions of pregnant women. “The goal was not just to have these individual people go to prison, it was meant to set a precedent about what fetal rights look like,” she said. CNN —The company that built and operated the Titan submersible asked employees to forego their pay as it faced economic challenges, according to former employees testifying before the US Coast Guard panel probing the vessel’s deadly implosion last year. OceanGate employees were asked to “defer our paychecks” at the start of 2023, Amber Bay, the company’s former director of administration, said Tuesday as part of a two-week hearing before the Marine Board of Investigation – the highest level of Coast Guard inquiry. The board is reviewing the cause of the June 2023 implosion during the submersible’s dive to the Titanic, which claimed the life of OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush and four others. New York CNN —Boeing said Monday it has raised its offer to the International Association of Machinists union to end the strike by 33,000 union members that has now entered its 11th day. “We heard your feedback,” said a statement from Boeing to union members on its website. But it did not restore the traditional pension plan that union members lost 10 years ago in a previous labor agreement. An IAM spokesperson said the union did not have an immediate comment on the new offer. In a decision that took place just before the strike began, 95% of union members voted against the previous tentative labor agreement.
