Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger made two surprise cameos on the new episode of “Saturday Night Live,” hosted by musician Bad Bunny. In the first sketch, Jagger crashed the set of a Spanish-language soap opera, playing the father of a character who was involved in a bitter on-screen fight. Bad Bunny starred in the sketch alongside and “SNL” cast member Marcello Hernández. Jagger’s appearance on Saturday comes after the Rolling Stones released “Hackney Diamonds” on Friday, their first new album since 2005. The Rolling Stones, including members Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, also performed a surprise album release party Friday night in New York City.

By David GaffenNEW YORK (Reuters) - It was a gas, gas, gas in a club on Manhattan's West Side late on Thursday, where the Rolling Stones held a private launch party for their first new album in 18 years. The Stones closed with an appearance by Lady Gaga for "Sweet Sounds of Heaven," a slow, blues-infused number off the new album that recalls the band's 70s classic "Moonlight Mile." Gaga and Jagger mimicked each other's dance movies as they alternated vocals, Gaga in a shimmering red-and-black one-sleeved jumpsuit, Jagger wearing a customarily tight black shirt. The latter has been a member of the band for nearly 50 years despite joining in 1975, 13 years after the Stones were formed. The album closes with the song "Rolling Stone Blues," a Muddy Waters song that was the origin of the band's name.

NEW YORK (AP) — Those miracles of modern science, the Rolling Stones, celebrated the release of their first album of original music in 18 years with a Manhattan club gig on Thursday. Mick Jagger alluded to past stunts the Stones had done in New York to tout new music over the years, including performing on a flatbed truck on Fifth Avenue. “Hackney Diamonds,” coming at a time many fans wondered if the Rolling Stones would ever bother again with new music, has been well received by critics, with many noting the crisp energy the band displayed. This time, the bar band was the Rolling Stones. Lady Gaga, dressed in a maroon sequined pantsuit, appeared to recreate her duet — duel, really — with Jagger on the new “Sweet Sounds of Heaven.”“New York, the Rolling Stones!” she said before leaving, after exchanging kisses with Jagger and Richards.

REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/Illustration Acquire Licensing RightsCompanies Anthropic FollowAlphabet Inc FollowAmazon.com Inc Follow Show more companiesOct 18 (Reuters) - Music publishers Universal Music (UMG.AS), ABKCO and Concord Publishing sued artificial intelligence company Anthropic in Tennessee federal court on Wednesday, accusing it of misusing an "innumerable" amount of copyrighted song lyrics to train its chatbot Claude. The music publishers' lawsuit appears to be the first case over song lyrics and the first against Anthropic, which has drawn financial backing from Google (GOOGL.O), Amazon (AMZN.O) and former cryptocurrency billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried. The lawsuit accused Anthropic of infringing the publishers' copyrights by copying their lyrics without permission as part of the "massive amounts of text" that it scrapes from the internet to train Claude to respond to human prompts. For example, the lawsuit said that Claude will provide relevant lyrics from Don McLean's "American Pie" when asked to write a song about the death of rock pioneer Buddy Holly. The publishers asked the court for money damages and an order to stop the alleged infringement.

Ormond’s claim alleges that Weinstein sexually assaulted her in 1995 after a business dinner and that Ormond told her agents about it, and that they advised her against speaking out about it. “Harvey Weinstein categorically denies the allegations made against him by Julia Ormond and he is prepared to vehemently defend himself,” a representative for Weinstein told CNN in a statement. It includes awful, if unsurprising, details from the lawsuit about what happened when she told her agents at the time. In addition, after the incident and her disclosure of it to her agents, Ormond says CAA lost interest in representing her and her career was damaged dramatically anyway. Jagger says that while he doesn’t enjoy dealing with the business aspect of the music industry, it’s necessary. When asked if there were plans to sell their post 1971 music catalog to make even more money, Jagger said no. The rocker added that his “children don’t need $500 million to live well” and suggested may donate his fortune to charity some day, according to the publication. Jagger said the reason is simple: he doesn't need the money, and his eight children don't either. "The children don't need $500 million to live well. Come on," he told the Journal, conceding that if he did sell he would likely give his share of the proceeds to charity. Jagger's approach towards leaving massive sums of money to his children is similar to that of other wealthy stars.
