The warehouse retailer also reported better-than-expected comparable store sales and raised its full-year forecast. Alibaba (BABA) – The China-based e-commerce giant reported better-than-expected earnings but revenue fell short of analyst forecasts. Norwegian Cruise Line (NCLH) – The cruise line operator's stock slid 5% in premarket trading after a double-downgrade from Credit Suisse to underperform from outperform, with the firm citing a number of factors including valuation.
Bath & Body Works – Bath & Body Works' stock surged 24% after reporting per-share earnings that were more than double what analysts had anticipated. The retailer also raised its guidance for full-year per-share earnings. Norwegian Cruise Line – Shares of the cruise stock shed 6% following a double downgrade to an underperform rating from Credit Suisse. Macy's – Shares of Macy's rallied 14% after the department store reported profit and revenue that beat Wall Street's expectations. BJ's Wholesale – Shares dropped 6% despite the company reporting beats on the top and bottom lines and raising its full-year forecast for per-share earnings.
Shares of Norwegian Cruise Line are trading at a steep premium and investors can find better value elsewhere, Credit Suisse said. Analyst Benjamin Chaiken double-downgraded shares of the cruise stock to underperform from outperform, saying investors should put their money in other cruise stocks. Along with an "unsustainable valuation premium" and better upside from Norwegian's cruise stock peers, Chaiken cited downside to 2023 estimates. Given this backdrop, Credit Suisse prefers shares of Royal Caribbean, which typically trade at a premium to Norwegian. Norwegian shares shed 5% following the downgrade.
Walmart — Shares of retailer Walmart jumped more than 7% after reporting quarterly earnings that beat Wall Street's expectations and raising its forward guidance. Retail stocks — Retail stocks rose following Walmart and Home Depot 's stronger-than-expected financial reports for the third quarter. Signature Bank — Shares of the crypto bank jumped more than 10% after Signature reported minimal exposure to FTX and any potential destruction that could come from its collapse. Sunnova Energy — Shares of solar company rose 7.5% after Deutsche Bank initiated coverage of Sunnova Energy, First Solar and Enphase Energy with buy ratings. First Solar was up 3.2%, and Enphase Energy rose 2%.

Perrigo – Shares of pharmaceutical company Perrigo slumped 16% after the company reported earnings and revenue that fell short of analysts' expectations, according to Refinitiv. The company reported $198.3 million in revenue, which beat expectations, according to StreetAccount.

Cruise-line stocks have been taking on water since Covid-19 hit, but lately investors have really abandoned ship. Shares of Carnival, Royal Caribbean Group and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings are down an average of 23% over the past month, with Carnival shares falling nearly 36% over that period. The cruise industry has been one of the hardest hit throughout the pandemic. Yet now, regulators are allowing more ships in the water, capacity is up, and mask and vaccine restrictions are lifting. So why are investors bailing?
Intel (INTC) – Intel added 1% in premarket trading following a Bloomberg report that the chip maker was planning to cut thousands of jobs to deal with a slumping personal computer market. Philips (PHG) – Philips shares slumped 8.1% in the premarket after the Dutch health technology company said its third-quarter core profit would be down about 60% from a year ago. Diamondback Energy (FANG) – Diamondback Energy announced a deal to buy energy producer FireBird Energy for $1.6 billion in cash and stock. El Pollo Loco (LOCO) – El Pollo Loco shares rallied 15.2% in premarket action after the restaurant operator announced a $1.50 per share special dividend and a stock repurchase program worth up to $20 million. Lyft (LYFT) – Lyft gained 4.3% in the premarket after Gordon Haskett upgraded the stock to buy from hold.

After a rough patch, UBS thinks it's time for investors to load back up on shares of Norwegian Cruise Line . He now expects Norwegian to lose $4.66 per share in 2022, less than a previous forecast of a $4.97 per share loss. Shares of cruise companies have come under pressure in recent years as Covid-19 lockdowns shuttered business and put a damper on cruising demand. While UBS prefers shares of Royal Caribbean , Farley sees strength in Norwegian's strong domestic customer base and its exposure to the luxury segment. UBS trimmed estimates and its price target on the stock to $15 from $18 a share, citing inflationary headwinds.
Raymond James lowers price target on Club holding Procter & Gamble (PG) to $155 per share from $175; keeps outperform (buy) rating). Stanley Black & Decker (SWK) downgraded to equal weight from overweight (hold from buy) at Morgan Stanley. Piper Sandler cuts Yeti (YETI) price target to $48 per share from $76 but keeps overweight (buy) rating. Deutsche Bank lowers price targets on all asset gatherers: BlackRock (BLK), Blackstone (BX) and KKR (KKR). Investors will be watching for weekly jobless claims, which is expected to rise by 2,000 to 215,000 last week. A second estimate of the government last month had shown the economy contracted at 0.6%, a more moderate pace than initially thought.
