The Hunter Biden case is an unexpected career turn for David C. Weiss, a tough, workmanlike prosecutor and commercial lawyer whose stubborn competitiveness earned him a reputation as a hard man to strike out in local softball leagues. Appointed by President Donald J. Trump, the low-key U.S. attorney for Delaware was held over in his job by the Biden administration to shield the Justice Department from accusations of political meddling. Mr. Weiss grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs, attending Cheltenham High School, whose graduates include Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, the Hall of Fame slugger Reggie Jackson and the conservative commentator Mark Levin. After completing law school at Widener University in Wilmington, Del., he worked two long stints as a prosecutor in the Delaware U.S. attorney’s office on an array of cases. Those included an investigation of a businessman who pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations after illegally bundling contributions for President Biden’s failed 2008 bid for the White House.

A Brief History of Bling

You can’t hear hip-hop jewelry, technically speaking, but that doesn’t mean you don’t know what it sounds like. The word bling, which entered common parlance at the turn of the century, conjures specific sights: small flotillas of twinkling diamonds, gold layered literally to the teeth, watches so gem-encrusted they barely tick. But it also suggests an expansive range of sounds, from the chimes in B.G.’s 1999 anthem “Bling Bling” to the reverberant pomp of Slick Rick, the otherworldly bounce of Missy Elliott, the diced-pineapple opulence of Rick Ross. One beguiling trick of hip-hop production, whether it’s expensive or ersatz, elegant or gaudy, is to convey musically what jewelry signifies visually. Rappers wear jewelry to floss and flex, to make a flamboyant spectacle of their disposable income, but also to commemorate and honor, to endorse and advertise.

Novo's news lifted shares in Europe's second-most valuable listed company after LVMH (LVMH.PA) by more than 17% to record highs. Lilly's shares rose nearly 15% in early U.S. trading, boosted by its upbeat quarterly results and Novo's trial data.

The auto research firm JD Power assessed dozens of vehicle brands for its latest quality study. The overall quality of new vehicles is deteriorating and nagging problems are on the rise, according to a new study from JD Power. "The basic touch point of door handles is now a percolating problem area as manufacturers attempt to redesign them," JD Power said. JD Power assigned a score to each auto brand based on problems per 100 vehicles, and calculated an industry average of 192 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), up from 180 in 2022. Logos of Swiss banks UBS and Credit Suisse are seen on an office building in Zurich, Switzerland March 19, 2023. The changes are aimed at producing unified teams following the completion of UBS's emergency takeover in June of Credit Suisse. Under the shake-up some Credit Suisse bankers will take on bigger roles in the combined company while some others leave, the sources said. Matt Eilers, UBS's global head of financial sponsors, is also in talks about possibly leaving, two of the sources said. It's got a ton going for it, but its coolest feature is a silly glass orb. The glowing "Crystal Sphere" hides the gear shifter, then reveals it when you want to drive. For everyone else: The Genesis GV60 SUV comes jam-packed with dazzling tech like facial recognition, automated stop-and-go driving, and ultra-fast charging. You might think the Crystal Sphere could double as one of those old-school computer mice that predated touchpads, but it can't. The Genesis GV60.

CONSTITUTIONAL QUAGMIREThe reasonableness amendment is part of Israel's so-called "Basic Laws" that the court so far has refrained from quashing. Striking down a basic law or an amendment to one has been described in Israel as the Supreme Court using a legal doomsday weapon. As Israel has no written constitution, it relies instead on these Basic Laws which enshrine some rights and liberties and establish rules of governance. In its legal response ahead of Tuesday's hearing, the government argued that the Supreme Court does not have legal authority to review basic laws. From mid-October those vacancies will include the chief justice and another Supreme Court justice.

When Israeli lawmakers passed a deeply contentious law last Monday to weaken the Supreme Court, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not linger in the voting chamber to celebrate. Instead, the justice minister, Yariv Levin, an architect of the legislation, stayed to pose for selfies with fellow lawmakers as Mr. Netanyahu walked somberly from the room. Mr. Levin, not the prime minister, made a celebratory speech from the podium. “We have made the first step in the important historic process of repairing the justice system,” Mr. Levin said. The prime minister was no longer there to hear him.

I drove the Genesis GV60, a new electric SUV from Hyundai's luxury brand. The GV60 Performance I tested costs around $70,000. I got to spend a few days this month testing one of the most exciting new Tesla rivals out there: the Genesis GV60. Plus, the Performance model I drove — stickered at right around $70,000 — packed a serious punch whenever I floored it.

Last October, he added "perfume salesman" to his list when he began selling a scent called "Burnt Hair" to the world. Upon sniffing Burnt Hair directly from the bottle he concluded that it actually smelled better than most perfumes. "It's pretty gross…It does smell like burnt hair."

The Tesla Model 3 and Y are some of his top picks, even though tons of new rivals have hit the map. Despite intensifying competition from big-name brands, Elon Musk's carmaker still makes some of the best electric vehicles out there, according to one of the internet's biggest car reviewers. Doug DeMuro, whose YouTube channel has racked up 4.7 million subscribers, told Insider that Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y are some of his go-to recommendations for EV-curious car buyers.
