Sept 13 (Reuters) - CrownRock LP is preparing to explore a sale that could value it at well over $10 billion including debt, people familiar with the matter said, in what could be the largest deal for a U.S. oil and gas producer going back at least three years. The sources cautioned that no deal is certain and requested anonymity because the matter is confidential. It also underscores how coveted spots are in the lucrative Permian basin, the largest U.S. oilfield, where CrownRock operates. Credit ratings agency Fitch said in December 2021 that CrownRock had more than 15 years of oil and gas to extract in its prime drilling locations. CrownRock is led by Dunn, who - through his family's CrownQuest Operating LLC - rolled his previous oil and gas assets into the partnership with Lime Rock.

But starting in your fifties, Dr. Mendez said, the area of the brain in charge of memory retrieval is less efficient. So if you’re struggling to remember “that movie starring that guy,” the memory is often there, Dr. Mendez said — it just takes longer to surface. We are inundated with so much information each day, said Dr. Davis, and the brain has to manage memories. “Forgetting is a normal part of one’s brain function,” he said. It’s not good for your brain health in general, but as we get older, our capacity to multitask “typically diminishes,” he said.

“We want the entire MAGA movement to understand that what’s going on in Texas is not just about Texas,” Mr. Bannon told his podcast audience this month. Yet those conservative credentials may not be enough to help Mr. Paxton survive what promises to be the most significant test he has faced. A well-funded political action committee, Defend Texas Liberty, has begun targeting some Republican members of the Texas House who voted to impeach Mr. Paxton. Mr. Abbott has not commented on Mr. Paxton’s impeachment. Mr. Paxton won handily and went on to easily win a third term in the November election.

Abbott was about to pull off a no-hitter, one of the rarest feats in Major League Baseball. “Dolores” is easily one of the most infectious melodies Wayne Shorter wrote during his stint as musical director for the Miles Davis Quintet. But it’s not one of the (many) Shorter tunes you’re likely to hear called at a jam session or covered at a straight-ahead gig. Maybe there is something intimidating about the balled up, stop-and-start melody; the centerlessness of its structure; or how perfectly the quintet plays it on the classic 1966 recording. Strong-but-bendable rhythm, splintered melodic lines and rough-and-tumble interplay are par for the course for (this) Davis, especially with her Diatom Ribbons project. When Lage departs from it on his solo, he travels far — and the band comes with him.

Opinion | People Are More Generous Than You May Think

Are human beings fundamentally good or fundamentally bad? Are people mostly generous, or are they mostly selfish? Over the centuries, many of our leading lights have taken the view that people are basically selfish. On average, the participants spent more than $6,400 of it to benefit others, including almost $1,700 on donations to charity. Sounds pretty generous to me.

The La Brea tar pits captured dire wolves, sabertooth cats, and other megafaunal for millennia. Statues of megafaunal mammals give La Brea Tar Pit visitors a sense of what animals roamed the area thousands of years ago. The loss of herbivores at La Brea could've contributed to a feedback loop, making fires — however, they started — more intense, the paper's authors say. Paelongotolist MacPhee cautions that there could be other explanations for why these animals in the 61/67 tar pits stopped appearing. Excavation of the La Brea tar pits has yielded hundreds of thousands of fossils.

U.S. women's national team coach Vlatko Andonovski has resigned, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press on Wednesday. The move comes less than two weeks after the Americans were knocked out of the Women's World Cup earlier than ever before. The four-time tournament champions struggled throughout the World Cup. The United States had never finished worse that third at the World Cup. The 46-year-old Andonovski was named coach of the United States in October 2019, taking over for Jill Ellis, who led the United States to back-to-back World Cup titles.

Dr. Dunn emphasized that this pattern could not account for the notable disappearance of large mammals elsewhere in the world at the end of the last ice age. “But in order to understand the global event, you really need to look at a regional scale,” she said. The researchers noted that it was hard to absorb the similarity of current events to those in the fossil record. “Many of the most threatened wildlife today are the remaining large-bodied mammals that didn’t go extinct” at the end of the last ice age, Dr. Lindsey said. But, she added, “because we caused this, we have the power to stop it.”

Other people have similarly become infected without obvious explanation, suggesting that leprosy is now endemic in the state, the researchers said. Still, there is no rising tide of leprosy in Florida. In the United States, the number of infections plummeted after peaking in 1983 but began a slow rise again about 20 years ago. Experts say the richest are actually even richer and spending more than they were before the pandemic. Most Americans now have "spent up" demand for goods, but still have pent up demand for services, Zandi says. In her experience, luxury spending is highly correlated with the stock market, and investors have enjoyed handsome returns so far this year as the S&P 500 rebounds from its 2022 lows. The luxury services sector was a particular hot spot. "If this is a richcession, the rich are probably saying, bring it on," Zandi said.
