The airlines are expected to buy a total of 78 787s split between the two buyers and have options to buy another 43, the source said. The Saudi deal comes on the heels of a major December order from United Airlines (UAL.O) for 100 787 Dreamliners and 100 737 MAX jets.

March 10 (Reuters) - The Federal Aviation Administration on Friday approved Boeing to resume deliveries of its widebody 787 Dreamliner next week. The agency halted 787 deliveries on Feb. 23 due to a data analysis error related to the jet’s forward pressure bulkhead, which Boeing Co (BA.N) found after reviewing certification records. The FAA said Boeing had addressed those concerns. "The FAA may resume issuing airworthiness certificates next week," the agency said. "The FAA will determine when 787 ticketing and deliveries resume, and we are working with our customers on delivery timing," Boeing said.
An American Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner approaches for a landing at the Miami International Airport on December 10, 2021 in Miami, Florida. Boeing can resume deliveries of its 787 Dreamliners as early as next week, the Federal Aviation Administration said Friday, after a data-analysis issue halted deliveries of the wide-body jetliners. Boeing earlier Friday said it completed the work needed to resume deliveries of planes to airlines and other customers. "The FAA will determine when 787 ticketing and deliveries resume, and we are working with our customers on delivery timing." On Feb. 23, Boeing paused deliveries of the planes, after a data-analysis error was detected related to the aircraft's forward pressure bulkhead.

The lower Paris fares will likely follow a similar path.
WASHINGTON, March 7 (Reuters) - A new supplier problem has stymied deliveries of Boeing's (BA.N) 767 freighter and KC-46 tanker, the company confirmed on Tuesday. On Monday, Leeham News reported a software problem had delayed some 737 MAX deliveries by up to a year. A Boeing spokesperson told Reuters the issue "does not affect the timing of Boeing airplane deliveries and has no impact to our delivery outlook." Boeing characterized the problem as a documentation issue that will not require rewriting software, and which mostly impacts aircraft that have already been delivered. Boeing has not changed its delivery target of 70 to 80 Dreamliners this year.
IndiGo, owned by InterGlobe Aviation Ltd (INGL.NS), is also comparing the A320neo with the Boeing 737 MAX as it weighs a major new order for narrow-body jets, they added. The split between wide- and narrow-body jets was not immediately clear. An IndiGo representative told Reuters the airline is constantly in talks with manufacturers as it plans its next phase of growth. IndiGo, which counts a 55% share of the domestic market, is widely expected to maintain Airbus as its supplier of narrow-body jets to squeeze out further economies of scale. Industry publication CAPA reported last month that IndiGo was looking at around 500 jets as Air India closed its own deal.
LONDON, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Norway-based airline Norse Atlantic (NORSE.OL) said it will add Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Boston to its summer schedule from London Gatwick airport this year, as it seeks to benefit from the post-pandemic boom in travel. Passenger demand for travel has surged over the last 12 months and is expected to recover to pre-pandemic levels on most routes in 2023. Norse said it would fly daily to Los Angeles from Gatwick from June 30 with economy return fares from 430 pounds including taxes. When it adds the new destinations later in the summer, it will serve more U.S. cities than any other airline flying from Gatwick, Britain's second-biggest airport. Gatwick's transatlantic connections suffered during the pandemic following the failure of Norwegian and after Virgin Atlantic stopped flying from Gatwick and focused on its operations at Britain's biggest airport, Heathrow.
Jetstar passengers were forced to stay on a plane for close to seven hours on Sunday. The flight from Bangkok to Melbourne diverted due to a passenger's medical emergency. The Jetstar flight from Bangkok to Melbourne landed in Alice Springs, in Australia's Northern Territory, at about 7.20 a.m. on Sunday. The 320 passengers on flight JQ30 had to wait on the plane for almost seven hours because the airport didn't have "customs processing facilities," Jetstar said in a statement. One passenger, Paul Tarrant, told ABC that the plane had issues with its air conditioning and the entertainment system was turned off.

Feb 24 (Reuters) - Boeing Co (BA.N) shares fell 3.2% in premarket trading on Friday after the U.S. planemaker temporarily halted deliveries of its 787 Dreamliner jets over a documentation issue related to a fuselage component. Some analysts said the latest hiccup in 787 deliveries should not result in any design changes and jets in service should continue to fly. Seifman said the brokerage believes this should not result in additional rework and that Boeing can produce the required documentation fairly quickly. Since the resumption of deliveries, production of the 787 has experienced some disruptions as the planemaker battles supply and labor shortages. Earlier this month, Spirit said the process of retrofitting stored fuselages for the 787 jets was taking longer than expected.
New York CNN Business —Boeing has been forced to halt deliveries of the 787 Dreamliner once again, just months after it resumed deliveries to customers following a year-long halt. “We notified the FAA and have paused 787 deliveries while we complete the required analysis and documentation.”“Deliveries will not resume until the FAA is satisfied that the issue has been addressed,” said the agency. Boeing continued to build the 787 even while it was prevented from making deliveries in late 2021 and much of 2022. It was able to deliver much of that backlog once it was given clearance to resume deliveries, as it delivered 34 Dreamliners between August of last year and January of this year. Boeing plans to maintain assembly of the planes once again during this current delivery halt.

A Boeing 787 Dreamliner in production late last year. Boeing Co. has halted deliveries of 787 Dreamliner jets because of a documentation issue, according to the Federal Aviation Administration and industry officials. The plane maker hasn’t handed over a Dreamliner since Jan. 26 from the production line or from the dozens stored awaiting delivery, said aviation data provider Ascend by Cirium. Boeing last week said it had paused assembly of new jets.
Boeing was ripe for a pullback even before Thursday's reveal of a delivery halt for one of its planes, according to traders on CNBC's " Fast Money ." That will likely put pressure on the stock while the issue is being resolved, said "Fast Money" trader Guy Adami. So that's what we're going to see here," said Adami, who is the director of advisor advocacy at Private Advisor Group. "The stock probably got itself a little expensive as well. … I think it probably goes lower from this $202 level we're seeing right now," Adami added.

WASHINGTON, Feb 23 (Reuters) - Boeing Co (BA.N) has temporarily halted deliveries of its 787 Dreamliner jets as the U.S. planemaker conducts additional analysis on a fuselage component, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said on Thursday. "The FAA is working with Boeing to determine any actions that might be required for recently delivered airplanes," the agency said. Boeing said in reviewing certification records it "discovered an analysis error by our supplier related to the 787 forward pressure bulkhead. CNN —Air India will purchase more than 200 planes from Boeing, a White House official says President Joe Biden will announce Tuesday. The agreement will include 190 Boeing 737 MAXs, 20 Boeing 787s, and 10 Boeing 777Xs – a total of 220 firm orders valued at a list price of $34 billion, the official says. The purchase will also include customer options for an additional 50 Boeing 737 MAXs and 20 Boeing 787s, totaling 290 airplanes for a total of $45.9 billion at list price.
