“I made the wrong call,” Cristobal said. Miami led Georgia Tech 20-17 and could have been in victory formation — taking a knee to essentially end the game — when a running play was called. Don Chaney fumbled the ball with 26 seconds left, and Georgia Tech took over on its own 26-yard line. What’s said on the headsets is between us, and ultimately, I called the play. Cristobal said players have responded the right way, which is all he can ask.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — The hype is coming for the Texas Longhorns like it hasn’t in years. That's what happens when you knock off Alabama on the road and get your first win over a top-five team in 15 years. “Game over with,” Longhorns receiver Xavier Worthy said, after it had been over with for an hour or so. In essence, Texas bullied an Alabama team that’s been doing that to opponents throughout coach Nick Saban’s tenure. “I think there’s a lot of people out there that based on the games we’ve had in the past or the seasons we’ve had in the past, some people try not to believe the hype,” Brooks said.

Well, for Duke quarterback Riley Leonard, he found out that is not the case. On Monday night, Leonard played a starring role in helping the unfancied Duke Blue Devils topple No. In a video posted on social media after the game, Leonard requested an extension to homework which was due in on the day of the game. Donald H. Taylor, professor in the Sanford School of Public Policy, responded to Leonard’s request with a congratulatory message before explaining his reasoning. “Wesley Williams and the other linemen who were in the class, they said they prepared ahead and did it ahead of time, so why didn’t the quarterback?” Taylor said.

WASHINGTON, March 3 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden's team is moving to tap top Democratic allies and even some people once seen as possible rivals as key representatives of his expected re-election bid. Biden's team is making other steps, too, including thinking through possible options for a campaign manager a host city for the 2024 party convention where Biden would be formally nominated. The campaign's strategy is expected to be set by the same inner circle that guided Biden's 2020 race against Republican former President Donald Trump, including his final 2020 campaign manager, Jen O'Malley Dillon. In the absence of a formal re-election announcement, the White House continues to book Biden in campaign-style appearances across the country. On Monday, Biden is expected to speak to the International Association of Fire Fighters, the first major labor group to endorse him ahead of the 2020 campaign.

Jackson State coach Deion Sanders says historically Black college football programs can be a path to the NFL for top recruits, but it is difficult to compete with the wealthier, traditional power schools. Sanders, a Pro Football Hall of Famer who starred with the Falcons, 49ers and Cowboys, is in his third season with Jackson State. I can still make it through there (an HBCU) and they can navigate me to the NFL,” Sanders said Tuesday during an interview on the AP Top 25 College Football Podcast. HBCUs, such as Jackson State and its SWAC rivals, were a goldmine of top talent for decades, in large part because of segregation. “So now it’s becoming an option,” Sanders said.
Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer Kwasi Kwarteng steps outside Downing Street in London, Britain, September 23, 2022. Kwarteng said from April 2023 Britain would have a single higher rate of income tax of 40 per cent, scrapping an additional rate of 45% on income over 150,000 pounds ($168,000). He also said he would cut the basic rate of income tax to 19 pence in April 2023, one year earlier than expected. "That means a tax cut for over 31 million people in just a few months' time," he told parliament. "That means we will have one of the most competitive and pro-growth income tax systems in the world."
