Last year, Carlos Alcaraz downed Novak Djokovic in a five-set thriller in the men’s final, while Markéta Vondroušová became the first unseeded woman in history to win the Wimbledon title after beating Ons Jabeur. Novak Djokovic was forced to withdraw from the French Open with a knee injury. 1 in the world rankings after his run to the semifinals at the French Open, where he was defeated in a five-set thriller by eventual winner Alcaraz. Iranians will go to the polls against the backdrop of a battered economy, widespread popular discontent and harsh crackdowns on dissent. Iran is also dealing with high inflation, heavy Western sanctions, mounting tensions with the U.S., ramped-up Iranian nuclear enrichment and the Israel-Hamas war. On issues of foreign policy and war, the Iranian president wields some influence and is the country's public-facing messenger. But power and critical decision-making in Iran ultimately lies with the supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, and unelected institutions like the Revolutionary Guards. The vote takes place amid deteriorating relations with the West, an advancing Iranian nuclear program, and an increasing risk of direct war with Israel. Nurphoto | Getty ImagesWith just days to go until France's snap parliamentary election kicks off, victory for the far right looks increasingly likely in the first phase of the two-stage runoff. But predicting the outcome of France's final vote on July 7 is less clear-cut, given the complexity of France's voting system. Voter turnout for the national election is also expected to be larger — and therefore more representative — than the 51% who cast their ballot in the EU vote. With that in mind, analysts see a 30% to 40% chance of the National Rally winning the 289 seats needed to secure an absolute majority in the 577-seat National Assembly. A majority government for either the far-right or the ultraleft alliance, meanwhile, could spark a far more dramatic outcome.

Much of the growth, from a forecast 21% market share this year, is expected to come outside of China. The rapid expansion of Chinese automakers is a growing concern for legacy automakers and politicians globally. In North America, Chinese automakers are forecast to only achieve a 3% market share, largely in Mexico, where one in five vehicles are expected to be Chinese brands by 2030. In most other major regions of the world, AlixPartners reports that the share of Chinese automakers is expected to exponentially grow. Chinese brands in China also are expected to grow from 59% to 72% in market share, according to AlixPartners.

Costfoto | Nurphoto | Getty ImagesEuropean Union regulators on Monday said that Apple is in breach of sweeping new tech rules because it does not allow customers of its App Store to be steered to alternatives. The European Commission, the EU's executive arm, also said it had opened a new probe into Apple into new contractual terms with developers. Under the DMA, tech firms are not allowed to block businesses from telling their users about cheaper options for their products or about subscriptions outside of an app store. The regulators also said that the fees Apple charges developers for the initial acquisition of new customers via the App Store "go beyond what is strictly necessary." The steering rules were also a focus in that investigation.

That's the question I've been asking myself every June since Amazon Prime first hooked me more than 10 years ago with a deeply discounted rate for college students. Let's audit the Prime perks that I do — and don't — use, and see if it's worth keeping around for another year. But the convenience of being able to find most products I'm shopping for and receive them in a timely manner is still a huge value for me. Smith Collection/gado | Archive Photos | Getty ImagesOn paper, there's value that I'm leaving on the table with my Prime membership. The newly added Grubhub+ membership is nice to have, but spending more money on take-out because of Amazon Prime will only make my membership feel more expensive, not less.
