The largest was in cases where defendants plotted violent attacks that ultimately failed or were foiled, where international defendants received an average prison sentence of 11.2 years, compared with 1.6 years for domestic defendants. For violent cases that led to injuries, domestic defendants received on average 8.6 years, versus 34.6 for international defendants. The disparity was smaller, but still significant, in violent fatal attacks with domestic cases at about 28.8 years and international cases at about 39.2 years. People charged in violent domestic cases also often faced less serious charges not often associated with crimes of terror, like illegal possession of firearms, the study found. “These domestic terrorists are being treated more like run-of-the-mill criminal defendants and receiving sentences far below those of international terrorism defendants,” he said.

The long-awaited reversal for international stocks won't happen overnight, JPMAM strategists said. New York CNN —Spending on the holiday season is expected to rebound to – and even surpass – pre-pandemic levels this year for the first time. The year-end months of November and December typically are dominated by shoppers scouring stores for deals and discounts on seasonal merchandise, including gifts. “As many as 82% of shoppers said they plan to spend on non-gift purchases such as decorations. While gift spending is still expected to grow 9% over last year, the report said people plan to buy one fewer gift versus last year. “In terms of the allocation of holiday dollars, the biggest increase that we saw is in the non-gift group,” said Skelly.

Indiana’s Tyrese Haliburton got questions about the same topic more often than he could remember this summer: The money, the money, the money. There are players with bigger salaries, even players with larger extensions — for example, Boston's Jaylen Brown signed one that could be worth $304 million this summer. But for players like Haliburton, Edwards, Ball and Bane, this is a new chapter. Haliburton, Edwards, Ball and Bane will average about that much in annual salary for the foreseeable future starting in the 2024-25 season.
