CNN —The Beatles earned their first Grammy nominations since 1997 on Friday. The iconic rock group was also recognized in the best rock performance category for the track. This year’s nods for “Now and Then” marks the first Beatles nominations since the late ’90s, when they won three Grammys in 1997. However, the Beatles aren’t the only classic rock ‘n rollers from that era to appear on this year’s list of Grammy nominees. They earned their first nod in 1978 for “Some Girls,” which was recognized for album of the year at the time.

Fed Chair Jay Powell said Thursday that he would not resign if president-elect Donald Trump asked him to. Asked whether he would step down amid chatter that Trump's advisors had suggested he do so, Powell replied, "No." Trump himself nominated Powell as Federal Reserve chairman in 2017 in his first administration. Powell made the comments during his regularly scheduled remarks following the release of the Federal Open Market Committee's latest statement on interest rate policy. Zelensky said 11,000 North Korean soldiers are in the region, where Ukraine’s three-month military incursion into Russian territory has stalled. The New York Times reported earlier this week that a number of North Korean troops had been killed in a limited engagement with Russian and Ukrainian forces, citing senior US and Ukrainian officials. US officials had warned that around 10,000 North Korean troops are in the Kursk region and would be expected to enter combat against Ukraine. Justice faced little competition from Wheeling Mayor Glenn Elliott, a Democrat, in a race that Republicans were heavily favored to win after the retirement of independent Sen.
