Jones had not fought since winning the title in his heavyweight debut in March last year while for Miocic, it was his first time in the octagon since 2021. Castaneda and his sister were swimming at Miami Beach’s South Point Beach when a rip current caught them. In a 2000 interview with CNN’s Larry King, Sante Kimes called their arrest a witch hunt, saying they were victims of mistaken identity. Kenneth Kimes Sr. pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, but Sante Kimes went to prison in 1985. When he or other people called for Kenneth Sr., Sante Kimes would say he was traveling, in the shower or had laryngitis, he said.
