It's still not easy for me to admit it, but that night I used my pain to feed my professional ambition. In a previous job, burnout nearly killed me, and I vowed to never let ambition swallow me again. There's a fine line between the motivation needed to build a successful career and the uncontrolled ambition that ends in burnout. As I unpacked this predicament in therapy, I began to wonder: How did ambition become such a force in our world? In the ancient world, ambition was seen as a curse.

Creditnews Research, an independent research house, released its new ranking of the fastest-selling housing markets in the U.S. To do a pre-Covid versus 2024 comparison, the study used metrics from January 2020 to January 2024. Five of the top 10 fastest-selling metros were also among the top areas that lost the most per-capita housing inventory since the beginning of the pandemic. Florida had one of the strongest housing markets during the pandemic, according to CNBC's America's Top States for Business ranking, but not a single city in the state ranked in Creditnews Research's top 10. It's a signal that the housing market in the Sunshine State isn't what it used to be.

An hour of the day will be unceremoniously snatched away on Sunday as we “spring forward” to daylight saving time. Last year, my research team showed that standard time leads to far more vehicles colliding with deer. Vehicle strikes already kill millions of wild animals each year, and collisions with deer are the best documented because they are so common and damaging. But traffic volumes are higher in the evening, and it’s hard for us to see things in the dark. The hour-earlier sunset that comes with standard time is thus an expensive, traumatic way to control the deer population.

Private jets belonging to Trump and Musk were spotted landing within less than an hour of one another at a Palm Beach airport on March 2. Musk, who owns X and runs defense contractor SpaceX in addition to Tesla, didn't endorse Trump in his 2016 or 2020 campaigns.
