The fat, the study found, essentially behaved differently in people with the same percentage of body fat, based on their long-term exercise habits. Regular exercisers had less rigid or fibrous fat tissue, which allows fat cells beneath the skin to expand to store fat, one of the body’s primary sources of energy. While expanding fat cells may sound like a bad thing, it’s actually better for health than having inflexible fat tissue. Another indication of this was that they had more proteins involved with fat metabolism in their fat tissue, the study found.

CNN —Jessica Leeds, who previously accused Donald Trump of sexual assault and was a trial witness in a high-profile case against the former president, said Monday that she “laughed out loud” when she heard he recently disputed her allegation and said she “would not have been the chosen one.”“I laughed out loud. She said she was seated in first class on an airplane next to Trump in the 1970s when he suddenly began groping her. Leeds said she fought off Trump and moved to the back of the airplane. Earlier this year a separate jury found Trump defamed Carroll when in 2022 he repeated several of the statements he initially made in 2019. Her attorneys argued to the jury that the only way to stop Trump from repeating the statements was to hit him in his pocketbook.

So it is noteworthy that Democratic and Republican leaders both appear to want to establish a sovereign wealth fund to help the United States pay for stuff. Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, which manages about $925 billion in assets, reported a $36.8 billion profit for 2023, according to Reuters. This isn't the first time Washington has toyed with the idea of a sovereign wealth fund. Last March, a group of bipartisan lawmakers led by Sen. Angus King and Sen. Bill Cassidy began discussing a sovereign wealth fund to pay for Social Security. The White House's interest in a sovereign wealth fund stems partly from its desire to compete with China, which has multiple state-owned funds itself.

The JPMorgan analysts said uncertainties about the China economic outlook range from tensions with the U.S. to "lingering deflation pressure."
