On Thursday, initial jobless claims for the week ending Sept. 10 came in at 213,000, a decrease of 5,000 from the prior week and below expectations of 227,000. FedEx rattled the market after it withdrew its full year earnings guidance Thursday, warning about global softness in its delivery business. After the CPI, markets shifted to price in an even more aggressive Fed rate hiking path. Fed ahead In the week ahead, there are just a few data releases, but they will provide an important window into how the housing market has been coping with the Fed's rate hiking cycle. "Good economic data has been bad for the market, but we haven't seen bad economic data be good for markets. After the CPI release, the futures market for fed funds priced a big jump higher in the terminal rate, or end point where the Fed stops hiking.

(DOW) to $60 per share from $70, saying polyethylene pricing is coming down. The Director of National Intelligence has been asked to assess the "foreign weaponization" of adtech data. US lawmakers have asked the Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines to investigate whether "foreign weaponization" of widely available adtech data poses a national security risk, a move that has the potential to deal a major blow to the online ad industry. The ODNI and the office of Chairman of the National Intelligence Committee Rep. Adam Schiff, who filed the amendment, didn't immediately respond to requests for comment. US government agencies themselves have used data from advertising auctions to track mobile phones. "Furthermore, brands — especially those with government contracts — may face a moral dilemma in funding an ecosystem that is deemed to be a threat to national security."
