Hybrids "make a ton of money," Jim Cramer said Monday after Ford reported a 75% year-over-year surge in hybrid sales in November to roughly 12,100 vehicles. "Ford should be spewing capital right now," because hybrid vehicles are more profitable than EVs, Jim added. He also suggested that given the new sales numbers Ford could be in better shape than its stock indicates. Perhaps keeping a lid on gains was the 6.5% drop reported in legacy internal combustion engine vehicle (ICE) sales to nearly 124,500 units. Maverick and F-150 trucks drove a 40% increase in hybrid sales in the third quarter, the three months ended in September.

Goldman Sachs believes Constellation Brands (STZ) has the potential to revive sales in its struggling Wine & Spirits division. It's not impossible, but we're more bullish on the company's core beer business. In the Goldman note, Herzog acknowledged that Wine & Spirits has, indeed, struggled. Management's emphasis on "driving shareholder returns reduces the risk of its underperforming Wine business," she added. We had been hoping to hear news about a breakup of its underperforming Wine & Spirits, which did not happen.

It's no secret: Estee Lauder (EL) has lost its way. Fabrizio Freda, the CEO of Estee Lauder since July 2009, was once an industry "wunderkind," Jim Cramer acknowledged Tuesday. It gives us another reason to be confident in the firm's retail business as the holiday online shopping season gets off to a strong start this year. Postal Service remains the largest parcel service by volume, handling packages for its customers as well as all three delivery companies. "People shop every day on Amazon," Jim added. The company's speedy, same-day delivery service is a huge value proposition of the Prime membership — made possible, in part, by Amazon's push to become the U.S. package delivery company in the U.S. The Amazon Prime logo is displayed on the side of an Amazon delivery truck in Richmond, California, June 21, 2023.

Estee Lauder (EL) has the dubious distinction as the worst-performing stock in our portfolio in 2023, and we're growing less optimistic about CEO Fabrizio Freda's ability to right the ship. Jim added he may consider selling Estee Lauder due to the uncertainty that lies ahead. Alongside fiscal Q1 results, Estee Lauder management cut its fiscal 2024 outlook suggesting the trajectory of getting back on track for China consumer demand growth will take longer than expected. When TJX Companies (TJX) reports quarterly results this week, we expect the off-price retailer to demonstrate continued momentum on both its top and bottom lines, helped by consumers looking for solid deals in an uncertain economic environment.
