Autonomous driving technology company WeRide has plenty of room to grow as a result of its early-mover advantage in the global self-driving market, according to Morgan Stanley, which brought the firm public in an IPO last month at $15.50 a share . Morgan Stanley estimates the global autonomous driving market size will jump to $1.745 trillion in 2030 from $93 billion in 2025. "WeRide is a pure play in global L4+ autonomous driving," Hsiao wrote in a 38-page report on Tuesday note. Level 4 autonomous driving describes when a vehicle can drive in most circumstances without a human driver, one step below the top-most Level 5 designation for a fully automated vehicle . To be sure, the threat of tighter regulation on driverless vehicles is a downside risk for the stock, and Morgan Stanley forecasts WeRide's earnings and cash flow will remain "volatile" in the near term, Hsiao noted.

WASHINGTON — An ex-Army soldier who was previously court-martialed for shooting a handcuffed Iraqi civilian was sentenced to over four years in federal prison on Monday for assaulting officers during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Richmond was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison after he pleaded guilty earlier this year to a felony count of assaulting, resisting or impeding an officer with a deadly weapon. Both the prosecution and defense agreed that Richmond's sentencing guidelines were between 51 and 63 months in federal prison. Another Jan. 6 rioter, Christopher Maurer, was sentenced to 50 months in prison on Monday after pleading guilty earlier this year to assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers with a deadly or dangerous weapon. President-elect Donald Trump has described Jan. 6 defendants as "warriors," "unbelievable patriots," political prisoners and “hostages," and said he would "absolutely" pardon some, if not all, of the Jan. 6 defendants.

A company tied to conspiracy theorist Alex Jones filed Monday to dispute the sale of the Infowars website to the parody site The Onion, calling it improper and unfair. In the morning, First United American Cos., a limited liability company that runs Jones’ online supplements store, filed an emergency motion to disqualify the winning bid of The Onion’s parent company, Global Tetrahedron,’ to purchase the Infowars media empire and other assets. The company running Jones’ online store had placed a competing bid against The Onion to purchase the estate. Infowars was briefly shut down after the sale was announced, NBC News reported, but it has resumed operating since. The proceeds from the sale of Infowars and Jones’ other assets will go toward his estate creditors, including the families of Sandy Hook victims.

TEL AVIV — At least five people were wounded by falling shrapnel Monday after a missile fired from Lebanon was intercepted by the Israeli military over a street in the city of Ramat Gan, officials said. Another patient listed in moderate condition and three mildly injured were taken to the Rabin Medical Center, the service said. Israel’s police service said it was “working to secure the impact sites and assist in evacuating the injured” in the city, which is within the Tel Aviv district. The Israeli military said in a statement that the country’s air force had “intercepted one projectile that was identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory. An Israeli airstrike killed five people and another 24 were injured by a strike on central Beirut's densely populated Zuqaq al-Blat neighborhood, Lebanon’s health ministry said Monday.
