As Kamal Adwan Hospital and Gaza itself run out of everything — food, water, fuel, medicine — the one thing we have not yet run out of is hope. In order for hospitals like Kamal Adwan to continue functioning, we desperately need more resources — especially fuel for our generators.

Once the generators stop, hospital director Iyad Abu Zahar fears that the babies in the ward, unable to breathe on their own, will perish. Doctors treating premature babies across Gaza are grappling with similar fears. At least 130 premature babies are at “grave risk” across six neonatal units, aid workers said. On Sunday night, a convoy of 14 trucks from Egypt delivered food, water and medicine into Gaza, the United Nations’ agency for Palestinian refugees and the Israeli army said. That came after the first convoy carrying aid since the Oct. 7 attacks entered Gaza on Saturday. Twenty trucks filled with medical supplies, as well as some food and bottled water, crossed into the area on Saturday.
