A Nebraska girl's murder went unsolved for more than 55 years before an Oklahoma man was arrested and accused of being the "enraged killer," that was being sought for decades, officials said. Mary Kay Heese. The family maintained a Facebook page all these years, asking for the public's help to bring justice to the teenager whose "life was taken by this enraged killer." Investigators recently exhumed Heese’s body, though it wasn't immediately clear what role, if any, unearthing the girl's remains played in Ambroz's arrest. An NYPD officer and another woman were shot in Queens by an armed robbery suspect who was believed to be responsible for multiple robberies within the span of just about an hour, according to police. As police searched for the suspect, officers were flagged down by a witness who pointed out a man on Jamaica Avenue and 160th Street. The witness told police the man had just robbed a smoke shop on Guy Brewer Boulevard, and fired a shot while doing so, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joe Kenny. AdvertisementA few years ago, my family started celebrating Thanksgiving a week before the actual holiday. In 2021, my mom had a proposition to move the day we celebrate Thanksgiving. Some family members travel from out of state and find travel more manageable and relaxing the week before the actual holiday. For example, my boyfriend celebrates the week before with us, and we spend Thanksgiving day with his family. AdvertisementBy having Thanksgiving early, we're able to celebrate the holiday and spend quality time with as many family members and friends as possible.
