London CNN —A set of 19th-century drawings by a teenage Queen Victoria will be put up for auction in London next week. An ink drawing by Queen Victoria, titled "A seated woman with a crown and sash" and dated 1838, is inscribed "by Her Majesty." George Hayter also gave the Queen drawing lessons, and Russell believes these drawings show his influence “quite closely”. The auction house has previously sold other works by royal artists, including a painting by Queen Victoria’s daughter, Princess Victoria, which fetched £4,198 (around $5,320) last year. The Royal Collection Trust, which looks after the royal family’s art collection, has more than 4,000 works by Queen Victoria, spanning 64 years of her life.

Following Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine – supported by Belarus – in February 2022, World Athletics is the only Olympic sports federation to have banned all Russian and Belarussian athletes from elite competition. CNN —A major Supreme Court ruling Friday that shifted power from the executive branch to the judiciary stands to transform how the federal government works. By overturning a 1984 precedent, the court’s conservative majority has made countless regulations vulnerable to legal challenge. The Supreme Court ruling could boost efforts by conservatives who have taken aim at the Biden Environmental Protection Agency’s rules limiting planet-warming pollution from vehicles, oil and gas wells and pipelines, and power plants. The leaders of the U.S. Congress have invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel to address a joint meeting of the Senate and the House of Representatives on July 24. Mr. Netanyahu’s appearance in Washington will not represent the State of Israel and its citizens, and it will reward his scandalous and destructive conduct toward our country. We come from a variety of areas of Israeli society: science, technology, politics, defense, law and culture. To date, Mr. Netanyahu has failed to come up with a plan to end the war in Gaza and has been unable to gain the freedom of scores of hostages. At the very least, an invitation to address Congress should have been contingent upon resolving these two issues and, in addition, calling for new elections in Israel.

CNN —Former President Donald Trump will get the final word when he debates President Joe Biden on CNN next week, after a coin flip to determine podium placement and the order of closing statements. Trump’s campaign then chose for the former president to deliver the last closing statement, which means Biden will go first at the conclusion of the debate. Biden and Trump are set to make history on June 27 in the first presidential debate between an incumbent and a former president. For Trump, delivering the final closing statement in CNN’s debate is a notable difference from his New York criminal trial and conviction last month. The debate qualification window closed just after midnight Thursday, with only Biden and Trump meeting the constitutional, polling and ballot qualification requirements CNN laid out in May.
