☆ Nike stock chart is showing signs of a bottom and a turnaround ahead

Before this week's downside price gap, it's worth noting that Nike was testing a major resistance level into last week. To add to this "confluence of resistance," we can also see the 200-day moving average looming large, currently sitting just above $91. The weekly chart can provide some additional context as to what the recent upswing means relative to the long-term trend for Nike. The long-term trend has been decidedly negative for NKE, with price remaining below the 150-week moving average since Q2 2022. Nike also sits below a downward-sloping 40-week moving average, which is essentially the same as the 200-day moving average on the daily chart.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the state's criminal investigation agency, said Wednesday it is looking into allegations against an Erwin plastics factory where several workers died and some went missing after they were swept away by floodwaters from Hurricane Helene. Relatives of the missing and deceased workers and factory employees who survived have alleged they were made to show up to work despite the hurricane moving through the area. Fernando Ruiz, the son of Lidia Verdugo, one of the plant workers, also confirmed to NBC News that his mother had died. Impact Plastics has expressed sympathy for the missing and deceased workers but said in a statement that workers were given time to leave the factory. The company said five workers and a contractor were on a truck that was tipped over in the floodwaters.

Some of it had to do with the old joke being that Best Buy was nothing but an Amazon showroom. CEO Corie Barry is a no-nonsense heavyweight who mastered the supply chain for Best Buy during the pandemic. As the JPMorgan recent upgrade on Best Buy said, most investors don't realize how awful this period has been for Best Buy. It doesn't hurt, of course that Best Buy has a substantial dividend — 3.68%, down from 4% and 5% when we were buying it. We have watched Eaton and Dover go higher and that was without the rate cycle, just with the data center.

CNN —Billing itself as the world’s “first holographic communications platform,” US startup Proto is beaming life-size, “3D” video into universities, hotels and medical centers. The boxes can reproduce pre-recorded video as well as a live feed, and any 4K camera, including an iPhone, can be used as the source. Nussbaum, whose background is in radio and podcasting, started Proto in 2018. In 2023, video of actor William Shatner was beamed from Los Angeles to the Advertising Week APAC event in Sydney, Australia. A similar technology launched by Dutch company Holoconnects has been deployed at hotels in Scandinavia, and used for advertising by BMW.
